The Jets winning is best for the league because everyone can watch Super Sanchize look mediocre on the biggest stage and still get fellated by the media.

I want the Jets to win, I dont mind Ryan's trash talk.

Yeah, I like Rex Ryan. Sports wouldn't be as fun if everyone were classy or sensible. I say bring on the occasional crazy blowhard.

Who do you all think has a better chance of beating the Packers or Bears in the Super Bowl?

Pittsburgh.

The Jets are nothing special. Packers and Bears both already beat Jets and could do it again. I'm cheering for the Jets because I've got friends who are fans of both and I'm sick of the Pittsburgh guy having so many SBs, and because the Bears stand a better chance of beating Sanchez & Co.

I don't have a dog in this fight, so I'm not really rooting for anyone.

But I think it turns out to be something in the neighborhood of:

Steelers 24

Jets 13

I think that Jets train stops here. Sanchez is going to get hit & rattled by that Steelers D. Mistakes will be made, drives killed.

Roethlisberger will keep enough plays alive with his size & mobility to put together a few nice scoring drives.

Sports Guy's "the loss doesn't really bother me and the Jets are amazing" schtick was pretty ridiculous this week. Neither he nor the other guys he spoke with even acknowledged that both Chicago and Green Bay beat the Jets this year, in non-fluke style. He and the gambling guy actually put more stock in the game that GB "should have beat the Bears" in week 3 than in either team's matchup against the Jets in mid-to-late-season.

My neighbor is a die hard Steelers fan and we watch games at the same bar, so a Super Bowl Sunday where the Bears play the Steelers would be a whole lot of fun. Although I'd be outnumbered by about 50-5 in Steeler's fans if that happens. The bar has been taken over by Steeler fans this year after some other bar showed them a bit of disrespect one Sunday. They all moved over to my hangout and they seem to be multiplying like rabbits. It's even scared off a lot of the Charger fans.

I hope the Steelers crush the Jets.

All of this deference the Jets are showing the Steelers is clearly a thinly veiled effort to further disrespect the Patriots.

I'm also sick of people all over Sanchez's knob. He is a mediocre QB, and I think the Steelers D really exposes him this weekend.

Steelers 17-6.

What did the other bar do? Dare to say Bradshaw really wasn't a good QB? Steelers fans are thin skinned babies who insist on everybody bowing before their teams greatness. And 75% of them have to be front runners because that has been a dying city for decades and there was no such thing as Steelers bars in every city before they started winning super bowls again.

I've got a lot of family in Pitt, so I'm cheering for a Bears-Steelers superbowl so I can rub it in for years after we win.

Plus, I can't find it in myself to root for NY/NJ teams in just about anything.

I don't remember the exact way it went down when it was explained to the bar owner where I watch games, but it sounded as if they expected preferential treatment due to the size of their group when it came to which tv they got for the game, which game had sound, etc..... Basically they didn't feel like they were getting the treatment they felt they deserved, so they basically propositioned this other place, not with demands, but offerings of what they could expect if they gave them a corner of the bar just for Steelers fans and sound anytime the Chargers games didn't conflict with Steelers games. They delivered, as the bar has done extremely well, as they have spent big time money during the games. One Steeler fan buys every other Steeler fan present that day a shot. The bartender gets real busy making up 40+ lemon drops or the like while taking care of everyone else's needs.

To be fair, I'm very familiar with the location where they used to congregate, and they aren't the best at making people feel welcome, so they were probably in the right to leave that place.

Anyway, you are right that they are definitely front runners. I sit at the bar for my games, and one time one of the guys came up to order a drink and I asked if he was from Pittsburgh, and he said he'd never been there. Haha. This guy is decked out in everything Pittsburgh you can imagine. Leather jacket, shirt, flare, hat, noisemakers, terrible towel, etc...

At least they show up each week. The Bears fans here only come down if the games aren't on national broadcast, and the Bears got a lot of face time on national broadcasts this year. I need support from these guys if I'm going to continue to get sound whenever we are on a different time slot as the Steelers and Chargers.

Lemons drops for Steelers fans, sounds about right.

Haha. Yep.

It seems improbable for the Jets to beat Manning, Brady and Max Cady three straight games, but I have a feeling it happens.

Whoever wins is my pick to win the Super Bowl.

And they could beat Rodgers in the Super Bowl also. It would be pretty crazy for a team to beat four of the best five or six QB's in the league in consecutive playoff games.

When I was in college and the Steelers had hit rock bottom- the Bubby Brister era- I started following the Steelers. Now that the Steelers are consistently good they are to me like a stock that I've owned for years, made some money on but am willing to sell. There are a lot of Steelers fans around here and most of them are front runners. I really dislike being associated with a lot of them.

I hope the Bears get the chance to beat them in the superbowl.

On the other hand, if the Steelers did win the superbowl all those dopes that bought those jerseys with the six superbowl logos on it would have to buy new ones. That might end the recession.

Pittsburgh fans are seriously the most annoying fans in sports. Coming from NE Ohio and having to deal with Steelers' fans is unbearable. Plus, I think Rex Ryan and the Jets are pretty hilarious.

That said, I'm thinking the Steelers will win.

+1 I don't know how many people I have seen/heard already counting their 7th SB. Not a single one of them thought they could beat NE.

Steelers & Packer fans are the same in that regard, IMO. Steeler fans probably even more so than Packer fans.

I've heard many comments coming from both camps -- they feel like the championship games are a foregone conclusion.

I think NE fans thought the same. That place was a morgue. Those people obviously had never even considered that the Jets might win the game.

Just for the record, this Packers fan doesn't feel like anything is locked up. I think we CAN win the game, and I do think the Packers have the overall better team, but the Bears will be at home with everything on the line, and they have a very very tough D. The Bears could easily win this game. I'm not taking anything for granted here.

I'm picking up a contradition here. You said that if the Bears win this weekend, you will accept that they are the better team. But here you are saying that the Packers are the better team but the Bears still might win despite this.
