Roethlisberger has sucked today.

Most Overrated QB outside of Favre...

No. Not even close.

He's definitely overrated because people care too much about how many rings he has. Most overrated is questionable, though.

How is he overated? The guy threw for 4300 yards last year with a 26/12 td:int ratio? He threw for 3200 yards this year with a 17/5 td:int ration all while not playing the 1st 4 games of the year. Im not sure what more you want out of a QB.

I mean nobody ever puts him into the conversation of Manning, Brees, Brady from what I hear. So I have no idea how hes overrated.

I actually hear quite often that he's better than Peyton, Rivers and Brees because he has more rings than them. Pretty much every analyst I hear on TV or radio puts him in the top 5 of active QBs at a minimum and many put him in the top 3. He's very good, but not that good.

He's been very up and down in his career, having some terrific years and some fairly average years. For instance, his 2006 and 2008 years were pretty bad, while the past couple of years have been much, much better. He's no higher than the 5th best active QB (behind Manning, Brady, Brees, Rivers) and might be a notch or two lower (depending on your thoughts on Rodgers). I'd probably put him 6th.

I'm pretty sure we should start putting Roethlisberger in that group.

If he continues what he's done the past couple of years, I agree. The inconsistency is what keeps him out of that group, though. And Rodgers is close to that group too if he can put together another couple of great years.

Well I guess we are watching or listening to different things because Ive never heard anyone say hes better than Peyton, Rivers,Brady, or Brees. There is always the same list of top 4-5 QBs and Ben is rarely if ever put into it with those guys from what Ive seen. Hes always listed in the 6-10 group. Like I said there is noway hes the most overrated Qb like MHuber said.

One bad season and one average season out of seven makes me believe he belongs in that group. In four out of Brady's first six seasons his QB rating was below 90 and he was already talked about as being elite because of his rings.

He's really only had at most 3 elite seasons, though (2007, 2009 and 2010). Peyton's had 7, Brady 4, Rivers 3 and Brees 4. I could see grouping Ben into the Rivers/Brees category, but not quite in the Manning/Brady area yet. He could be close to Brady, but Brady hasn't really had a bad year in his career. He's had a couple of average-above average seasons, but nothing as bad as Ben's 2006.

Like I said, one or two more years like he had the previous two years and I have no problem putting him into the top 3-5 of active QBs. I just don't think he's there yet.

Obviously people will rank them differently amongst them but if you're willing to count Brees and Rodgers in the most elite group of QBs today, you have to count the Raper too. And it has nothing to do with rings.

Maybe I just watch too much ESPN and listen to too much sports talk radio. All I hear about when people talk about Big Ben is how many rings he's won and how it's more than Peyton and the others, so obviously he's better.

I've agreed with this from the start.

I can see him in the Brees/Rivers/Rodgers group. I hadn't realized how remarkably good he had been this year. I still put Peyton/Brady ahead of the rest, though.

Yea I dont think you will get an argument from anyone with Peyton/Brady ahead of the rest. I think he fits right there with Brees/Rivers/Rodgers group.

I'd definitely agree with the two of you there.

But I think we can easily say he is not the most overrated QB.

Yup

He wasn't even the most overrated QB playing in the AFC Championship game.
