You know, thinking about it a bit I could imagine the play called for fourth down in the third down huddle assumed they'd need 8-10 yards. So, Flynn gets to the line and isn't sure whether to keep the play or switch out since they actually only needed 1.

Total speculation, but that would be another 'blame Flynn' scenario.

Besides that game, it was a pretty good day. Go Vikings tomorrow. However, I doubt Joe Webb is scaring anyone.

With that turf a concussion waiting to happen, I could easily see the Vikings pass rush concussing Cutler and making Todd Collins have to win the game. The O-line really needs to hold up.

this season is over for the bears. the packers will not lose again on their way to the super bowl, which they will then win.

the packers are coming back here and are going to take control of the division with this drive right here, book it.

wow this guy is uncanny, how do you do it

Do you think any of the coaches would be upset if he ran up to the line without getting the call and ran a QB sneak really quickly for a 1st down and then quickly spiking it? There'd probably still be 10 seconds left after all of that, enough time for 2 shots at the end zone.

Sully can walk through TSA checkpoints talking about the bombs in his luggage without people checking on him, I don't know why people wonder about his comments on his sports teams

I'm starting to think SF is gonna win the NFC West at 7-9. Look at their schedules

SF:

Rams

Cardinals

SEA:

Buccaneers

Rams

STL:

49ers

Seahawks

So for the 49ers to win the division they need to win their last 2 games against winnable opponents and have the Seahawks lose one of their last 2 games. They would hold tiebreakers over the Rams and Seahawks.

Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer has been relatively adamant that while the Panthers wouldn't break the bank for a Fox extension, that doesn't mean they won't spend money. This travesty of a season is almost entirely due to the owner's desire not to have to pay people during a lockout if he can avoid it.

So any talk from Peter King about Carolina being too cheap to go big, I take with a grain of salt.

So how much are the Saints (I'm assuming they get the No. 5 seed) going to be favored on the road in the first round? I'd bet it's largest a road team has been favored by in the wild card round in history.

This is the most overblown whining bullet point from Bears fans from this game. If a guy's head bounces off the ground hard with force he's normally going to get a concussion. See Cutler in NY.

Not overblown at all, and you are wrong. Guys can bounce their heads off the ground without getting a concussion quite easily. Not so on concrete.

He's right. Look at most of the concussions suffered this season. Quite a few of them have come from a player's head hitting the ground with tremendous impact. Obviously those fields were much softer than what we'll see tonight. It doesn't help matters that they're going to be playing on a hard field, but concussions are obviously part of the game.

Besides, the only guy that would end up getting a concussion tonight would be Peterson. Harvin possibly could too with all of the migraines he's had to deal with. Just the way it's been going.

He's not right. The fact that it can occur on other fields doesn't change the fact that it can occur more easily on concrete. It is ridiculously stupid to try and claim otherwise.

this really is a disaster waiting to happen. the vikings have nothing, absolutely and literally nothing to play for so they'll have their dicks outs the whole game and if they get penalized into dust, it just helps their draft position. the concrete field delivers a nice slab to injure and maim.

i don't know how anyone can reason that the vikings are getting the short-end of the stick, here, they've already pissed away their season and are probably looking to kill some people with some dirty hits.

thank God we aren't playing a historically dirty and cheap-shotting packers team with nothing to lose. that would be worse.

When have the Packers been dirty and cheap-shotting over the last 20 years?

Make sure to tell your punter that.

I dont know if many of the Vikings have any beef with any of the current Bears other than Kreutz and Pat Williams. As much as I want to build up the Vikings and Packers players as gigantic douchebags, they aren't any different than any other NFL team. Maybe they don't have a lot to play for, but I doubt any of them are going out there trying to concuss somebody. They will probably play a little freer out there though, so we need to watch out for that.

we also need to stop pretending that the Bears/Vikings or Bears/Packers rivalries are as big as the Vikings/Packers rivalry.
