I'm so glad that Dallas somehow finds its way onto my TV screen every week without fail.

They will have played 8 games after this week, and being a resident of Chicago I will have been able to watch 7 of their games with basic cable. It's not all bad though...the one game that wasn't on the Chicago airwaves was their 1 win this year.

Still 5 straight weeks and 7 of 9 with a Dallas game on (inc. bye week) is rather nauseating.

And here I thought I was the only one who got way too many Cowboys games since LA has no team. Apparently they force feed Dallas to the whole country.

Yeah seriously. 2 of the games so far have been because the Cowboys have played the NFC North. And of course being a member of the NFC East means that they are going to be on TV often to fill the NFL's allotment for one NFC East intradivision matchup every 2 weeks on primetime. But I have no idea why I was forced to watch Dallas-Tennessee or worse Dallas-Jacksonville last week. And the craziest thing is, I am still scheduled to have 3 more Dallas games on my TV during the rest of the season because of Thanksgiving, a SNF game, and a Saturday game. Hopefully the SNF game will be flexed, but with my luck the Cowboys will make some sort of mini-comeback and be 4-6 going into the game against Philly.

Dallas hasn't been interesting or entertaining for a long time either. They receive an inordinate amount of hype every season but are just 83-84 since 2000 and 1-3 in the playoffs. The kings of all mediocrity, Chicago, are better than that.

What in the [expletive] kind of stupid game is this? Why the [expletive] does the first team have to receive the missed FG and kick it out of the end zone? Then why does the other team try to kick it back again? wtf?

My best guess is that, they mentioned something about the non-FG kicking team needing to get the ball out of the end zone after receiving the missed kick, otherwise it is 1 point to the FG kicking team? So when the other team fielded the missed FG, they didn't think they could get it out of the end zone and instead kicked it away back to Montreal. Montreal was playing for a point so they punted the ball back into the end zone, which is when the other team botched the catch of the punt and the ball bounced around the end zone until a Montreal player caught it for a TD.

It still leaves a lot of questions. Is the other team required to have some one field the missing FG? What if they didnt send anyone back to field it? Would it have gone to OT? What if the original team downed it after having the ball punted to them, would it have gone to OT? What if they decided not to catch one of the punts and the kick bounces out of the end zone...what happens then?

What a strange sport.

the link provides an explanation.

You get 3 points for FG and 1 point for kicking it out of end zone Since the end zone is 15 yards deep a moderate range FG actually requires a hefty kick to get it out. If you catch it in end zone you can run it out, or kick it out, they couldn't run so they kicked but the kicker caught it and had a chance to kick it back out. He kicked but didn't make it through end zone, defensive team muffed their last chance and kicking team fell on ball for TD.

Of course! Because they're "America's Team!"

Ok, I attempted this 2 years ago and failed but I am gonna try it again.

I am going to try to attempt a NSBB NFL Power Rankings. So here is what you do.

PM your Top 10 NFL team rankings by Friday. If I get enough ballots I will post the results by Sunday.

And yes Power Rankings mean nothing, and if you don't wanna do this. I understand.

Sidney Rice was taken off the PUP list today, practice and has 3 weeks to be activated. He obviously won't play this week but some think he might play against the Bears next week.

Sounds like Al Harris is going to play this week. We cut DE Michael Montgomery to make room for one of the PUP guys and it sounded like Harris could've played last week against the Jets. Bigby is expected to be activated before Monday too but probably won't play on Sunday night.

A corner rotation with Harris as the nickel and Shields as the dime sounds really good to me.

Rotoworlds latest on Moss. Pretty funny actually.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, The Dolphins "need to be included" as a very possible landing spot for Randy Moss on waivers.

Moss updates are trickling in by the minute, so here's the latest: NFL Network's Albert Breer reports that the Cowboys are a "no." With the Jets out of the mix, the Dolphins are likely to feel compelled to "block" the Patriots with a waiver claim if Moss makes it that far. Meanwhile, Vikings coach Brad Childress described Moss' stay in Minnesota as a "programatic non-fit." Programatic is not a word, but Chilly isn't much of a coach, either.
