This football season has sucked, but today was pretty delicious, outside of KSU pantsing UT.

KU with the dramatic come from behind win.

Mizzou with the faceplant. I'll savor the little things while they last.

You can savor a win over us in a few weeks. We're terrible.

Dude, I wouldn't overreact here. You'll likely beat us by 40-60 points, and that's not hyperbole.

We won't.

Whoever said that LSU would jump a bunch of teams by virtue of being the "one loss SEC" team. They managed to jump 1 loss teams Ohio State, Wisconsin, Stanford, and Nebraska. I'd say at least 3 of those teams are clearly better than LSU.

the pac 10 is pretty easily the best conference top to bottom.

Easily?

Yes.

maybe you missed the part of yesterday's game where Cody Hawkins--CODY HAWKINS--threw for 322 yards and three TDs against us. I loved the win and all, but at the end of the day, we did let CU score 45 against us.

We won't stay within 35 points of any of the remaining teams we play.

Texas Tech has the 119th ranked pass defense in the country and Blaine Gabbert threw for 95 yards.

Two other things I found interesting in the aftermath of Tennessee's win last night: 1. Bray went to Gerald Jones on the sideline and asked if he'd caught a TD pass yet. Jones said no, to which Bray responded "next one's coming to you." It did. 2. After the game, Jones said "I wish I could start my career over here, because I've never had a QB like this." He's had 2 QB's who are in the NFL now throwing him balls, and he thinks more highly of Bray than either of those two.

This kind of thing happens every year with the SEC

I'll go ahead and say it for everyone. the SEC has always been overrated.

I just don't think the voters put any thought into it. I would say that there are times that jumping LSU like they did this week does make sense. I dont think this is one of the cases, but hey its the SEC, which is only slightly below the NFC in quality of play.

Tyler Bray had a better first half than any QB in school history tonight, helping Tennessee destroy an awful Memphis team. Still, 2 school records (yards and TD's in a first half) is a step in the right direction.

dew, did tonight do anything to convince you that 10 wins in 2012 is certainly within reach?

I never thought 10 wins in 2012 was out of reach, I just don't expect it. And that said, the only thing the Memphis game convinced me of is that Memphis is truly awful. It was exciting, don't get me wrong, but I just don't know how much I can take from us dominating probably the worst 1A team in the nation.

Bray looked terrific and some of his throws were perfect darts. He got away with a couple of his TD passes, but I really liked what I saw from him. The line is still pretty bad, though, since even Memphis was able to get consistent pressure on Bray.

If nothing else, it was a great momentum builder for a young team that really needed it. Hopefully it gives the team the confidence it needs to sweep November, but the Ole Miss game still really concerns me. Kentucky will be tough, but Ole Miss is the game I really don't know that we can win.

That's pretty cool. I've been excited about Bray since Lane started going after him and I heard the kind of arm he has. The more I've seen of him, the more I've liked him. Jim Chaney is going to have a lot of fun with Bray and these receivers in the next couple of years.

This year I think it is very much. LSU did beat Alabama, but they also barely squeaked out a win against North Carolina's second and third stringers. Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn are really good teams with flaws, Georgia and Florida are talented underachievers and South Carolina and LSU are up and down teams. Mississippi State is overachieving. Otherwise, Tennessee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss are bad teams.

This is the first time I've been able to check this board in quite a while, so I am a little late to the party. But how about them Aggies?

ucla and washington are the 2nd and 3rd worst teams and they're really not that bad. wazzu is the only awful team in the conference. and they have top teams (oregon, stanford), which the big xii does not have.

ESPN has the PAC-10 as the 4th best conference.

Rating conferences during the season has it's purpose i guess, but one is able to more accurately rate conferences after they have intermingled more thoroughly after the bowl season. I do believe Oregon has the best team in the nation, and I understand (probably even agree) with the argument for the Pac-10 having the strongest conference this year....however, i'm interested in seeing how all of the bowl games unfold.

FWIW, I do think the SEC was overrated at the beginning of this season.
