The Cavs are second in the league in attendance still. They're not [expletive] moving anywhere.

You would have to think that most of that is because a lot of people bought season tickets to rally around the team (I don't know if this is true or not, I don't care enough to look.) and at this point they own the tickets and have said [expletive] it. Plus, this team is becoming historically bad so there is a little intrigue. I would think that attendance would plummet next year.

I'm pretty sure that season ticket holders had to re-up before LeBron announced where he would go which, if true, would obviously be a big factor in the attendance figures this year.

Yup, that's correct. To their credit from what I've heard they've attended the games (meaning no paper sellouts, they are actually going to the games) and the crowds have been really vocal. But I don't think they can sustain that attendance with such a terrible unwatchable team in an economically depressed market. The year before LeBron got there, they averaged 11,000 a game.

Well if they can't sustain the attendance after this season, then that would probably make sense. They've actually had quite a few legitimate sell-outs this season.

I think nabbing Sullinger in the draft would be a good draw for the fans. Of course, that's all pending on if they win the lottery or not.

I think nabbing Sullinger in the draft would ensure they stay terrible next year

They're going to be terrible no matter what. They need to win the lottery each of the next three years to fix the mess they have right now.

you guys are overreacting to the fact that the cavs are God-awful right now. yes, their team as it is currently constructed is a train wreck with no future, but if they get a couple of top 3 picks in consecutive years then they've got marketable stars and a future.

this draft is going to be super-duper weak, maybe the weakest in history, even at the very top. sullinger is a beast in college, but he's short to play PF and won't be much more than a nice 3rd option on a good team, which the cavs won't have.

Until they bolt Cleveland at their first opportunity again.

I think most people here see the Cavs as the post-1998 Bulls, except without the titles to fall back on as a reason for the ineptitude. The roster is old and bloated, and will need a fantastic set of drafts and player turnover to even get competitive again.

Heck, it took the Bulls 3 rebuilds to get it "right" (First, Brand/Artest; second, Hinrich/Gordon/Chandler; third, Rose/Noah).

The Cavs are expected to turn a nice profit this year.

Also, we're not even really seeing them "as constructed", as Mo Williams and Anderson Verejeo have missed a lot of games. Jamison plus scrubs is not what the fans expected to see

ETA that the team not only lost James, but Delonte West and Ilgauskus as well

they'll turn a profit this year, but i don't think the city will be patient enough to sit through a 7-8 year spell without the playoffs. especially when they've been so teased with a title after years of mediocrity.

plenty of teams have gone from penthouse to outhouse when the team languished. the thing they have going for them is the size of the city and the area, they aren't a small market by any stretch. i fear that the owner may commit suicide at some point, though.

i knew it was coming, but kevin love not making the all star team is a travesty

bosh making it is a joke too

How did Love get left off? Oh because Tim Duncan was put on the team. Laughable.

LeBron was crazy in the 1st quarter tonight.

And yeah, The NBA put on some good games tonight.

I'm trying to figure our how Bosh is in and Boozer is not. It doesn't bother me much and I'd rather a guy with an injury history not play in the all star game but I think Boozer has been better than Bosh this year.

And Orlando is a pretty big mystery to me. At times they look like the best team in the NBA and then there are times when they look very mediocre. If I had to bet right now I'd probably say the Bulls or Celtics are coming out of the East.

if cleveland becomes a "cool" place to play, a superstar might stay there. durant is staying in okc and that place sucks.
