I think at some point you have to give a NC shot to one of these mid-major powerhouses.

Either that team will get murdered and quite people for a while, or they win and a stronger case is made for a playoff. Boise looks really strong. If they didn't shoot themselves in the foot all night, tonight's game would have been a blowout.

I'd like to put a logo on her cheek, if you know what I mean.

i also would like to ejaculate in her butt

This quote is awesome in combination with the WWJD bracelet she is wearing.

new mexico is down 42-7; if that's the final score then they will have lost their first four games by a combined score of 222 to 38. worst team in i-a football?

At least New Mexico played a couple ranked teams plus Texas Tech. The only other winless FBS teams are:

New Mexico State (good year for the state so far) has lost to San Diego State, UTEP and Kansas by 125-47.

Akron lost to Syracuse, Kentucky and Indiana 111-33 plus lost to Gardner-Webb, a mediocre FCS team.

Eastern Michigan lost to Army, Miami (OH), Central Michigan and Ohio State 184-82.

And Washington State will probably be in the discussion by the end of the year. They lost to Oklahoma State, SMU and USC 150-54 plus nearly lost to FCS Montana State.

On a related note, remember this Washington State team? Definitely the worst BCS team ever.

last year's wazzu team was just as bad:

-1-11 with the only win at home against SMU.

-outscored 462 to 144 on the year

-outscored in first quarters 176 to 6 and in first halves 308 to 50 (when other teams were presumably still trying)

-outgained 6144 to 2983; outgained on the ground 2837 to 848

-outscored by pac 10 teams 357 to 80

let's compare that to 2008-09 and then add up the two years.

2008-09:

-2-10 record

-outscored 570 to 165

-outscored in first quarters 142 to 31 and first halves 305 to 71

-outgained 5764 to 3134; outgained on the ground 3219 to 1236

-outscored by pac 10 teams 453 (!!!) to 77

totals from the two seasons:

-3-21 record

-outscored 1032 to 309 (average final of 43 to 13)

-outscored in first quarters 318 to 37 and in first halves 613 to 121

-outgained 11908 to 6117 (average ypg 496 to 255)

-outscored by pac 10 teams 810 to 157 (average final score 45 to 9)

looks like they are horrendous again this year. if there has been a I-A team worse than this in a three year span, i'd like to see them.

They weren't even the worst BCS team that year.

if OSU goes undefeated, they will have beaten Miami, Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan, all of whom were/are likely to be ranked at the time they play them.

if Bama goes undefeated, they will have beaten Penn State, Arkansas, Florida, South Carolina, LSU and Auburn, all of whom were/are likely to be ranked at the time they play them.

Boise St. has NO argument to get in over either of those teams if all 3 go undefeated

The real debate is whether an undefeated Boise St. team plays in the national championship over a 1 loss BCS conference school though, right?

Yes. Nobody I've seen thinks they should jump an undefeated Alabama or Ohio State team. Odds are that neither of those teams go undefeated.

What the hell happened to them? When Rocky Long was there they seemed to typically be like a 7-5 team that would play in a lower tier bowl almost every year. Then he had one bad year, said he couldn't take them to the next level and they've completely gone in the toilet in like 2 years.

That 2008 year in the state of Washington has fascinated me since the time it happened. UW/Wazzu went 1-22 against FBS opponents. Of course the only win was WSU beating UW and of course it went to overtime.

In that same year the Mariners went 61-101 despite being a trendy pick to contend after winning 88 the previous year.

The Seahawks went from a Super Bowl appearance in '06, division title in '07 to a 4-12 season in '08. And Mike Holmgren left to open the door for the Jim Mora Jr. era.

The topper of it all, you won Kevin Durant in the lottery. You saw him win the rookie of the year and had an idea of how lucky you were going to be, even though your team went 20-62. They then took him and your entire franchise to Oklahoma [expletive] City and left you with nothing.

No city or state will ever top that year. Ever.

If you take college sports out of the equation the city of Cleveland (I don't know, maybe Cleveland State will suck at basketball and we can include them too) they have had a crappy year thus far that can almost be comparable. The Indians have been horrible along with the Browns and the Cavs lost one of the best NBA players of all time.

Not even close. The Browns and Indians were expected to be last place teams. The Mariners and Seahawks were coming off good seasons and expected to contend. Losing LeBron is enormous but losing your entire [expletive] franchise is on another level. Plus you can't just take out college sports. Many Cleveland residents are Ohio State fans.

It's not that rare for a city's teams to all suck in a year. But to lose a franchise after landing a franchise-changing player, lose the only guy who ever made your football team relevant, have the two worst major college football teams in the country and have your baseball and football teams take an enormous step back and fall incredibly short of expectations is another level.
