So...2 regulation losses at home in the span of 10 days to the team that finished last in the conference last year and appears to be just as bad this year.

The Hawks are 1-4-0 in their last 5 home games.

They lost 8 games all year at home last year.

What a mess.

it's official

the hocks are back

the west is really good, and the central is stacked. are we going to make the playoffs?

I still think yes but I'm getting concerned.

lol the oilers have 2 wins in therir last 10 games and both are against the blackhawks

embarrassing. surprised the fans aren't booing yet.

They got to see some fights and hear Chelsea Dagger play. Why would they boo?

Kane, Toews, Keith, Sharp have, for the most part, [expletive] sucked this season.

Yep. Their effort is just horrendous at home.

0-4 at home against the likes of the Oilers, Devils, and Jackets. We have ZERO points in those four games.

They're playing in some sort of a haze, Toews just loafs in and makes Khabbi look good. Someone better give them a swift kick in ass.

Cup hangover. Is there any other explanation for several of the top players from last year's team completely underperforming to start the year?

I guess it could still be a slow start, and an adjustment period with all the new players, but even so the level of play right now is pathetic.

With regards to the effort, the Blackhawks haven't played since Sunday yet there is still no team in hockey that has played as many games as them this year. They are at 17 and the next highest are 15. Most are between 12-14. They played the deepest into the summer and have been given the most demanding schedule of any team in the league so far. They have already played 4 games the day after another game. It has to be taking a toll.

I think there is some cup hangover going on, some getting used to new teammates, but a significant amount has to be this stupid schedule.

The Blackhawks will have to wait at least one more game before having their entire lineup healthy.

Dave Bolland returned to practice for the Blackhawks on Tuesday but won't play Wednesday night against the Phoenix Coyotes at the United Center.

The center has missed five games after suffering an upper-body injury Oct. 29 against the Edmonton Oilers. During practice, Bolland was flanked by Marian Hossa on the right wing with Patrick Kane shifted to the left side.

"It felt pretty good," Bolland said of his first practice with teammates since the injury. "I'm glad to be back with them. I've been skating on the ice by myself and with the trainers. It's fun to get out with the guys and actually be around the team. I'll just take it day by day right now now and see how it goes."

I think you are pretty spot on here. Hawks will be fine

We're now second to last in the division and every one but Columbus has played 5 less games than us. I'm getting a little more concerned about the playoffs but I still think we will click at some point and go on a bit of a run.

That could just be the defending champion optimism though.

Was looking at points per game today. The Blackhawks are 2nd to last in the west in points per game. The only west team worse (Edmonton) has beaten us twice on our home ice this year.

Btw Detroit is absolutely destroying that hapless oiler team 5-0 right now. Whether or not you think well recover from this everyone has to accept that we are playing absolutely dreadful hockey and have been one of the worst teams in the NHL the first 1/5th of the season.

Oh and as far as goals scored per game were amongst the bottom 3 teams in the conference too

i have such a bizarre feeling towards this team, and i dont think it has anything to do with their recrod. i just feel so indifferent. after winning the cup, it just feels like this season is pointless or something.

i gotta believe that most of the struggles are because of the cup hangover. its gotta be hard to get the intensity back just a few months after reaching the pinnacle of your sport.

i bet they'll play better in the second half. i hope so, anyways.
