hopefully troy brouwer's stupid ass is suspended for that hit. he deserves it.

not only is he a dirty player, but i'm getting sick of him costing this team by taking stupid ass penalties.

oh, and nick boynton is still pathetic. you could argue he cost us both games over the weekend by 2 peewee hockey screwups

Boynton is terrible. Both Cullimore and Hendry and hands-down better than he is, and that says way more about him than it does about either of them.

I said it last week when they were winning games and I'm saying it now. This team looks very shaky. Too many shots on goal. Not a lot of energy out of the forecheck. Not getting much from anyone outside of Toews, Hossa, Kane and Sharp. That's just not going to cut it.

Campbell coming back will help, and once he comes back I think they just need to go with Cullimore and Hendry as the 3rd defensive pairing. Frankly, Jon Scott is useless. Nice try on that signing, Bowman, but he brings nothing to the table. And I don't mind keeping Boynton around in case injuries pop up, but he should be a healthy scratch most nights.

I believe one could a make point that Kane and Toews haven't been very good, they're both in the +/- red. Wrong about Toews he's +2 but, still don't believe he's played very well.

The bad news - potentially very bad news - is that Marian Hossa, who leads the Hawks with 11 points, left the game after the second period with an undisclosed upper-body injury. He was not on the bench to start the third.

Quenneville said Hossa will be re-examined on Thursday. He was asked if it was a potentially serious injury and reiterated that it would need to be re-examined. He also isn't sure how it happened.

"I know he came off there and I don't know if there was a direct blow, but we'll see what happened," Quenneville said.

Dammit. Of course it's Hossa again.

God, I hope it's not too serious. They really can't afford to lose him for any extended period of time right now.

I'm worried that this teams sub par defense is too easily being written off to no Campbell. Keith has been playing like a borderline top 4 defensemen instead of the Norris Trophy winner. Our forwards have been doing very little to help out and often seem to forget assignments.

Q's got a lot of work to do...

I really think Keith has been hurt by playing too much. He has to be in the top 2 in minutes played last season and was leading by a wide margin this year. On top of playing a lot of minutes per game, the Hawks have played a ridiculous amount of games in comparison to much of the league.

Definitely but I just remember how much better we looked in the playoffs last year when Campbell came back. Besides 15 minutes of Campbell on the ice is also 15 less minutes with Hendry or Cullimore on the ice.

Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa will be "likely out up to a couple of weeks" with an upper-body injury suffered during the second period of Wednesday night's 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

The veteran winger, who has seven goals and four assists this season, left the ice during the early stages of the second period following a collision with the Kings' Jarret Stoll along the boards in the Los Angeles zone and didn't return.

"We found out a little bit more (and) it's not of a serious nature," Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said following Thursday's practice. "Hopefully he can get on the ice soon and he can be back before we know it."

"I don't know if it was a defining hit or anything like that," Quenneville said. "It's tough to say exactly when (the injury) was."

Chicago plays 7 games over the next 2 weeks, 4 of which are on back to back nights. They have played the most games in the league, as many as 5 more than other teams and 4 more than many other teams.

Well, it's not a good stretch for Hossa to be out but I'm relieved that it isn't a more serious injury.

I'll take it.

I'm expecting Potulny, for cap reasons. Have to say I'm hoping to see a younger guy with potential, we'll see.

Good point. Pirri wouldn't shock me either.

Was anyone else reminded of another goal on Toews 1st period goal?

if you didnt see it, it was similar to the Cup winning goal by Kane

is this even a playoff team? the west is stacked, and the central looks ridiculously stacked

So much for Kane, Toews, Bolland, etc. getting their collective heads out of their collective asses.

Kane and Toews both scored in the period, but point taken.
