The Blackhawks had an epic party Sunday night at Lavo, a club at the Palazzo Las Vegas resort, which featured an unidentified rookie who spent the evening wearing a replica of Iron Man's armor.

In what apparently was the team's annual rookies party, in which first-year players split the tab, the Hawks enjoyed a 6-liter bottle of champagne that cost $35,000.

$5,000 worth of champagne probably ended up in Q's mustache. Wow.

Hey, a rather easy W.

Lay down big bucks for showers of champagne. Win a hockey game easily. Women all over the place.

I chose the wrong career.

The capper to a nice night. Hawks/Bulls both win, pretty good Circus trips this year.

Feelin' good about things at the moment on the Madhouse front.

Pretty surprised they managed to go 4-2 on the trip, even though those 2 losses were blowouts to teams we handled easily last year. Then again, winning on the road wasn't their problem for the most part. Let's see some wins at the UC.

Hawks are still 1 point ahead of the 9th place team in the conference. Only problem there are a bunch of teams with 4 games in hand over the Hawks right there.

Wow, ESPN has the Hawks 4th in their latest power rankings, up from 14th.

I know they are playing better, and I'm pleased with the 4-2 road trip, but I don't see the quality of play being up to elite team status just yet. Despite the 4-2 trip, they got blown out by 2 teams they usually handle (SJ and Calgary), and won a couple of closer 1 goal games. They still have some work to do for me to consider them a top 10 team in the league this season. As it is right now the Hawks are in position for a playoff spot but only because they have 3-4 more games played than their opponents.

I still think some of their troubles are due to having played more than any team. As the season progresses, they should climb that ladder, unless injuries creep up. And supposedly Hossa got hurt in practice. But they shouldn't be 4th.

They have 9 games over the next three weeks. I think they need to pull off a 7-2 type stretch if they want to realistically be considered among the top NHL teams. 4-2 road trips are nice, but when you struggle to win more than 2 in a row that's a problem. The best they've done this year was 4, but they went to OT in 2 of those games to conference foes, negating some of the benefit. They will be approaching the halfway point after this three week stretch, with or without Hossa, and if they can't get themselves to a better points/game pace, they are going to be in a fight for the last couple playoff spots.

One game at a time. Let's beat the Blues tonight and go from there.

That's what they need to focus on, but not me. I need to see a prolonged stretch of solid play before I put this team back toward the top.

I really like Morin for plays like he just made to set up Kopecky's goal.

And what a fight. Knew that one wasn't gonna take long. Scott's pretty useless on his skates, but [expletive] can he throw 'em.

HAHAHAHA Brouwer will never get an easier one than that.

And Morin finally gets an assist. He deserved one on the first two goals. Go figure.
