This is how we are supposed to look against the [expletive] Oilers.

The Oilers are 2-9-3 in their last 14 games, and the 2 wins are against the Blackhawks in Chicago. I honestly cannot comprehend how we lost to them twice when I see stats like that. And they weren't close games for the most part. They lost 6-1 to San Jose, 7-1 to Carolina, 6-1 to Detroit, 8-2 to the Rangers.

It would be like if the Bulls lost to last year's Nets team twice...oh wait. Better example, it would be like if the Cubs lost 2 straight series to the 100 loss Pirates. Damn that one doesn't work either. How about, that would be like the Bears losing twice to Carolina.

Also, this was in the Red Eye the other day. I thought it was funny and spot on.

Three Blackhawks awake in a messy hotel room. All are shirtless. The Stanley Cup is in pieces on the floor.

"What happened?" says Duncan Keith, missing a tooth.

"I have no idea. Are we really 9-9-2?" Patrick Sharp replies.

"And where's Tazer? We have a game tomorrow!" Patrick Kane says.

The group looks for Jonathan Toews. In the bathroom, Sharp finds Don Cherry.

Sharp screams and shuts the door.

The Blackhawks go see the team trainer.

"You guys have Stanley Cup Hangover," the trainer says. "To fix it, you need to retrace your steps to see how you got here."

The Blackhawks pile into Sharp's car. They hear a pounding from the trunk. They open it and find Dustin Byfuglien, Colin Fraser, John Madden, Brent Sopel, Adam Burish, Andrew Ladd, Antti Niemi and Kris Versteeg.

"What are you guys doing here?" Sharp asks. "We have a game tomorrow!"

(In unison) "Remember? You guys got rid of us. I know we seemed like mere spare parts, but we were the depth that separated us from other teams."

The Blackhawks return them to their respected franchises and head to the hotel room. Inside, Tie Domi's listening to "When a Man Loves a Woman."

"I want Don Cherry back in Canada tonight," Domi says. He punches Kane in the face. John Scott rushes in and just sort of looks at Domi without doing anything.

"Who are you?" Domi asks Scott.

"I represent the new Hawks," Scott says. "We aren't quite as talented as last year's team, but give us a chance."

"So maybe it's more than just a Stanley Cup Hangover?" Keith asks.

"I'm actually still drunk from the offseason," Kane says.

"That explains a lot. But where's Tazer?" Sharp asks.

"Guys, I've been here the whole time, I've been kinda invisible lately," Toews says. "Look, I know we've been struggling, but we're a very talented group and it's a long season. We're going to be all right. Now let's go win tomorrow!"

"Tomorrow?" Kane asks. "That's no good for me. The Jonas Brothers are in town."

My favorite part is the thing about John Scott rushing in and does nothing. So true.

I enjoyed seeing Halek put one in his own net, I did not enjoy seeing that it was against Detroit. Wyatt, those Wings are rolling. 12-3-1? Poop. At least the Blues have lost 5 straight and the Hawks have the 5th most points in the west (shutup I know they need about a half dozen more games than anybody to get there).

Yeah seriously. Last November, the Hawks blew out the Sharks 7-2 in San Jose. This November, we are the ones getting blown out on the road against Anaheim 7-2.

Calgary

Honestly, I have no [expletive] clue why I said Anaheim. I clearly, by previous posts on this page, know they played Calgary. I have no idea why my brain randomly told me to type Anaheim.

Once the Hawks got up by 3, the refs were calling the Canucks for looking at the Hawks. It was kind of funny. I guess that's what you get when you have a rep for thugging it up once your behind.

Just one of those nights, or was the beatdown a wakeup call that their effort so far this season isn't going to get it done?

May be a fluke but the timing, coming the night after getting beat down is curious.

I missed the game, was the score indicitive of how well they played.

it was. Hawks played real well

the running up of the score was only done in response to dan hamhuis's disgraceful flopping against the boards in game 5 of the predators' series.

Nice.

The Blackhawks had an epic party Sunday night at Lavo, a club at the Palazzo Las Vegas resort, which featured an unidentified rookie who spent the evening wearing a replica of Iron Man's armor.

In what apparently was the team's annual rookies party, in which first-year players split the tab, the Hawks enjoyed a 6-liter bottle of champagne that cost $35,000.
