They are saying what they need to say. I'm sure they do feel like if they play like they did most of game six, they will be in a great position to win the game. Honestly, they pretty much out-played the Hawks. They just couldn't score.

 

The whining about the officiating is stupid and counter-productive, but it's not like they played poorly in game six.

It's probably all part of the plan. If they can whine their way into an extra power play or two, then mission accomplished.

I don't know, you can spin this a number of ways. But he's got a team whose will is, let's see, perhaps not the strongest. And then he goes out and makes a litany of excuses for their shitty play. Nevermind Edler (I think) intentionally smashing Bolland's head into the glass, or Torres not getting suspended. Anyway, if things go south early tonight for them, don't you think it will be in the sisters' heads that their GM blamed the refs, and this isn't their fault?

Wow, no wonder their fans are blaming the refs for all of their problems. Their own damn GM just put all of the blame on the referees. No accountability at all. Pretty pathetic, especially coming from someone who employs cheapshotting clowns like Max LaPierre, Kevin Bieksa, and Raffi Torres, not to mention the hair pulling bitch Burrows, and the proven divers, the Sedin Sisters. What a joke that organization is. I hope the Hawks win by 7 goals.

Should you really use the ref excuse when you got blown out of the building in two games? I understand the frustration in game 6 a little bit as there were a few questionable calls that went our way but they didn't effect that game. They dominated for two periods and lost. I wish they'd shut up and I hope it costs them tonight.

I think that's true. There's another side to it, a possible backlash when you do something like what he just did.

 

I definitely think if the Hawks score early it's going to be hard for the Canucks to avoid collapsing like a house of cards. There's so much pressure on them right now, and frankly they've responded to pressure terribly over the past couple seasons.

Encouraging stat of the day: The Blackhawks haven't lost a game 7 since 1971.

 

(They did, however, get swept out of the playoffs a bunch)

Agreed. I would have liked to see Q come out and rebut Gillis by saying the reason why the Canucks are facing a lopsided penalty differential is because they are a bunch of undisciplined goons and are being the more physical team. I also think that Sedin flopping like Hansborough didn't do the Canucks any favors either

I wish I could trash Vancouver as a city, but it's actually pretty great IMO.
