They put Vin Scully on the wrong list.

Ugh. Scully.

I can't really argue with Hawk at No. 1.

I really don't like the one man booth at all. I've never really got the Scully love either.

As for worst, Rob Dibble and the Hawk in a tie. Even White Sox fans can't stand him.

The first time I listened to him on extra innings it was enjoyable, but it got old really fast. And I have to think this is all just a nostalgia thing now.

i love vin scully... classic baseball voice and he manages to fill up the air time without seeming like he's talking too much. harry kalas was my favorite but now that he's gone, i like vin scully best.

hawk is rated as the worst or almost the worst every time a publication does one of these lists. i have no idea why the white sox keep him on. maybe it's like those bored, spiteful couples that stay together after 40+ years of marriage. they're just used to what they have and don't care enough to part ways.

I reallly like that Giants team. Funny that the Giants are boring to watch, but have good announcers, the Rays are a fun team to watch but their announcers are brutal. I liked Brennaman at one point. I thought he was ok with the Cubs and got better w/ the Reds, but he has really gotten progressively worse now. The Boston announcers are big homers who talk funny.

And I like Scully also.

Is this TV only? I guess so, otherwise Pat Hughes and Ron Santo would be #1 ahead of Vin Scully.

Pat Hughes is the best broadcaster in baseball for having to deal with Santo on a daily basis.

I'm genuinely shocked they didn't put Joe Buck and Tim McCarver on there. Or Jon Miller & Joe Morgan. I know they don't have specific teams, but they are more prominent broadcaster teams since they're national, and Chist alive Buck & McCarver are terrible and Morgan alone should put that tandem on the list.

I think the Rockies have a really good team

too homer-ish

Unless they're on a national broadcast, the announcers SHOULD be homers IMO.

Depends on how you define homer. Making it obvious which team you want to see win is one thing. But they have to be objective in how they describe the play on the field.

I would go as far as to say the Buck and McCarver do have a specific team. We should all be greatfull that they share their talents with the rest of the league.

Which is exactly why Hawk gets that #1 spot.

jeff brantley is on the radio, not tv for the reds. chris welsh is usually the color guy, and while better than brantley, he still sucks.

Living in Atlanta I get to hear....

Ernie Johnson and John Smoltz. They have to be quickly climbing that ladder, even though this is Smoltz's first season. Thankfully, Chip only does a few games.

I like Scully, but he's overrated, and anyone who thinks he's the only one who can pull off the one-man booth is not a Cubs fan. Hughes could do everything Scully does and possibly more if Santo wasn't already in the booth.
