Stupid play, but then again why is Lee taking strike 3 right down the middle of the plate?

exactly, dumb call maybe but that was lee's fault.

Its not Lees fault his manager is a [expletive] moron who sent the runners down 5 damn runs in the 1st freaking inning.

I'm not arguing the bad manager decision, but how is it not Lee's fault that he took a fastball right down the middle of the plate?

Guys take called third strikes. It's a 3-2 count, a ball is a walk. If he thought it was a ball, he's thinking go to first. They needed baserunners, not 90 feet.

In the spirit of nobody cares, a buddy from StL and I bet on the following three things just before the game started.

*Only in games between the the clubs*

1) Over wins

2) Batting Triple Crown stats (2 of 3 wins)

3) Pitching stats (K's, BB's, ERA), again 2 of 3.

I'm gonna lose all three bets.

Why on earth would you have made those bets?

We always do something of the sort. And really, looking at season stats, the Cubs match up favorably in the stats.

Is it just me, or is Keener double posting a lot? Also, on a hit-n-run, you swing the freaking bat! ESPECIALLY if it's right down the middle.

Lol sorry! I'm on my Blackberry and I have no idea why I'm double posting. I hit submit once and then I'm gettin an "oops" on my browser. I'm using Opera 5 mini and like I said I don't know wtf is going on.

How about the cubs move Wells and Gorzelanny to the Pen and bring up Cashner for the rotation instead of putting Cashner in the pen when they call him up.

Lee was at fault for not recognizing a strike with 2 strikes, it was poor pitch recognition.

But the combo of a strike-out pitcher, a batter that often strikes out, avg. speed on the bases, shorter throwing distance to 3B, best arm in the game, and 5 runs behind was a much worse decision than Lee passing up a strike.

Stop making sense and thinking logically.

It's going to suck for Russell when he gets undeservedly sent back to Iowa because the Cubs have too many lefties in the bullpen.

They're gonna send down Stevens and move Wells to the pen. Bob Howry will remain safe.
