  1. Would it beat a team of players the Bulls were favorites to land? Nobody could beat the Bulls FA 2nd place finishes. They are the dream team of FA 2nd place finishes. PG: LeBron James SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Carmelo Anthony PF: Kevin Garnett C: Chris Bosh BN: Dwyane Wade, Kevin Love, younger Pau Gasol Not to turn this into a discussion about the NBA but Kobe and KG were never favorites to land here as free agents. Kobe was rumored via trade and KG publicly said he didn't want to go to the bulls so he was never favored to come here. Lebron and Bosh were rumored to come here as a duo in 2010 but Wade was assumed to stay in Miami even despite his visits to Chicago. Love was rumored via trade but Cleveland was always the favorite because of Wiggins. Bulls didn't miss out on Gasol, they just didn't give up what was wanted via trade. Sorry I just get annoyed when people make believe this world where the bulls somehow had these star players within their grasp.
  2. Yeah thats what I'm saying. Can the cubs just move Wells to the Pen and move Cashner into the rotation?
  3. Dont know why but i feel Lou just doesn't like soto personally. I mean seriously, he treat Soto on Defense as if he's Soriano on Defense.
  4. Wow WTF is up with this obessesion with Hill at Catcher. Lou is a moron, Soto isn't that bad defensively and Hill isn't exactly Johnny bench.
  5. Got $20 on Dempster giving it right back.
  6. Wow do i hate Dempster. Cubs tie it up, he comes in gives up a double and hits the next batter. What a moron.
  7. Thank you. Probably one of the better posts I've seen. I'm to the point now where I hope they continue to lose just so that Piniella and Hendry get fired (Hopefully) and the cubs blow up the roster. Judging from Lou's comments, they're really getting frustrated with Theriot. The situation he had yesterday in which he came to plate after Lilly was walked and swung at the first only to groundout, pretty much explains Theriots attitude throughout the year. Lou expects Theriot to take pitches but yet Theriot continues to think he's a run producer.
  8. You do realize Wilken has only been with the cubs 3-4 years right? I just find it funny that you want a guy to pull out all star in that span. For the time he's been here, he has certainly done an excellent job. 4 years ago the cubs farm system was a joke and now, its actually one of the best. I think it was Keith Law who mentioned their system was in the bottom 5 a few years ago, to have such a turnaround is actually pretty good.
  9. Who said you can't question Wilken's pick? Basically everybody has done nothing but question the Simpson pick. However, most realize he's brought in some very talented players with high upsides into our system, know his track record of bringing in guys like Halladay, Carpenter and Rios into the Blue Jays' system, and are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I don't see why questioning a pick, but giving a guy with a very good track record the benefit of the doubt is that bad. all the media stories leading up to today were, colvin made it, we were wrong. And a lot of what people have written in the last 18 hours is, well, he has earned the benefit of the doubt. What media story said Colvin made it? I think you're just pulling that out of your ---. From what i've read the media has said Colvin deserves a chance to play everyday to see what he has which is a valid point since he's played well in his limited time.
  10. Well its pretty idiotic to say colvin was a bad pick when he has had limited time in the majors. When you sign as a pick it does not make you a pro. Its until you're in the majors in my book. The book is still out on wilken, i dont think you can say his picks have busted either way yet, until we officially see how good they become. As for saying cashner isn't a good pick because he's a reliever? so i'm guessing you think David price was also a bad pick since he was brought up for a bullpen role to start off his major league career.
  11. How about the cubs move Wells and Gorzelanny to the Pen and bring up Cashner for the rotation instead of putting Cashner in the pen when they call him up.
  12. Can we bring up that thread where i was asking for Aram to be traded and some posters were saying i was dumb and that Aram was the one player you keep. God this guy is hot garbage. Still remember in spring training where he wouldn't start early or play in games and he said he'd be ready, well we're still waiting for him to arrive.
