You might as well post Sammy Sosa's numbers against LHPs. What difference do career numbers make when the guy had a serious injury, missed a year, and still isn't 100% recovered from it. He has clearly shown he is not the same hitter he has been the rest of his career.

 

The guy's career has taken place almost entirely in the second half of this decade. He had an injury that the vast majority of people say hitters should be able to return from with minimal problems. He didn't even start for Fukudome yesterday against a lefty. Seriously, what is the big deal?

 

Using yesterday as a reason I shouldn't make a big deal out of it? That was 1 day and Fukudome still didn't start.

 

Bottom line is Fukudome has been monumentally better this year vs. RHPs. He's been better in his career than a non-100% (you admitted) Nady has been this year. It doesn't matter if it's Fukudome or Fontenot, or Colvin, or whoever. If your better hitter is LH, play him. At this point, Fukudome is clearly better than Nady. At this point, Colvin is a better option than Nady.

It's easy for me to stipulate he's been amazing in the past. This year, he looks like he has no clue, yet the prevailing theory around here has been he'll snap out of it soon, because he's in a contract year, or he's too good not to.
