We've never had a situation like this, so who knows? But I'm hard pressed to remember a team that didn't win with an inside presence.

I'm not a basketball expert, but wouldn't the Jordan Bulls be examples 1 through 6?

So you think Dennis Rodman was a schlub on defense and the boards?

Also, to a lesser extent, the 00s Pistons.

Yeah, to a way lesser extent since Rasheed Wallace and Ben Wallace played on those teams.

By "inside presence" I'm not just referring to offense, since rebounding has proven to be pretty important in winning basketball games.

Seems like you're only referring to defense and rebounding if you're going to use ben wallace and rodman as examples...

All I said was that I didn't think a team could win without someone inside, which I should have clarified to mean someone that could at least play defense and rebound, even if they couldn't score.

Just heard that Jay-Z has bought 2 courtside season tickets to the Miami Heat for $900,000.....

Is this real? Cause if it is, I can't imagine New Jersey being thrill that Jay-Z (part owner of the Nets) bought season tickets from the Heat.

I can't say if it's true or not. I heard it on the radio and then when I got home

saw that so who knows what the hell's going on.

Having some dudes who played C or PF isn't the classic definition of "inside presence" when discussing NBA champions.

Well one of those "dudes" averaged a 14/10 and over four offensive rebounds per game during the first three-peat, which obviously makes him a player of no consequence.

Horace Grant was the definition of replaceable. He had nothing to do with winning or not winning those championships.

Then by your definition pretty much every team in NBA history has "inside presence" which makes your not being able to think of a champion without an inside presence pointless.

Yeah, that sounds way too much like one of those "I heard [random free agent X] was checking housing prices in [Random city pursuing random free agent X]" rumors.

Sorry, I won't talk basketball anymore. And since you've clearly made your point, please follow the protocol of pretending I'm as non-existent as Horace Grant's defense.

But I am telling you for certain that the Bulls, who signed Carlos Boozer on Wednesday, who have Derrick Rose at the point, who have Joakim Noah and Luol Deng and think they can sign a stone-cold outside shooter like Mike Miller, were very much back on LeBron's radar on Thursday, four hours or so from when he was supposed to go on ESPN and reveal the decision about his immediate basketball future.

Oh lord does this need to end.

Darren Rovell[/url]"]Update: Mark Dowley, a partner at William Morris Endeavor, who put the show idea together with Maverick Carter, told CNBC that two companies, University of Phoenix and Bing, got the most ad time (2 minutes). University of Phoenix donated its ad time to the Boys & Girls Clubs. None of the other companies with ads are running any new creative specific to LeBron. Dowley did say, contrary to what ESPN had said yesterday, that LeBron won't announce what team he is going to within the first 15 minutes of the show.

ESPN will say, "Well we wanted LeBron to announce it in the first 10 minutes."

He's going to wait until the last minute, then the screen will freeze right as he says "I've decided to sign with." Underneath him will be the words "to be continued..."
