All I'm saying is that there is a very good alternate explanation to his sudden outburst of offense to him coming around. His offensive production has been more a result of the pitcher than his personal peaks and valleys.

And you know for sure that his streaky ways in the past aren't similarly accountable?

No. But as bad at their jobs as I think baseball management is, I have a hard time believing it's that bad.

Of course, I could always be wrong about that.

I said it before and I will say it again, if Soriano is healthy he will produce just fine. I do not get why so many people think when the Cubs lose it is Soriano's fault.

Soto has been outstanding. Starting pitching continues to excel. Now about that offense and bullpen......

I get as frustrated as anyone at Soriano, but he is fun to watch when he is going good. This team needs him to be good to have a chance.

Nice at bat Mr. Colvin. I am glad you showed Lou you can hang in there against a lefty.

The Cubs have scored in 4 different innings today. In the previous 4 games, they had scored in 3 different innings.

With that walk, Soto is now sporting an OBP over .500.

I swear, if I hear 1 more [expletive] person talk about Zambrano's supposed struggles this year, Im going to break something. He had a horrible opening day start, and since hasn't allowed more than 3 runs in a game. Hes had some high pitch counts which sucks, but hes gave his team a chance to win every damn game except for opening day.

For what it's worth....when the Cubs are sucking, it's always fun to flip on the White Sox, especially when they're losing.

Hawks rants are pure genius!!!! :-)) Complaining that Buehrle shouldn't be charged with 3 of the 6 ER he gave up because of a "team error" (foul ball not caught by Konerko or Beckham). While his logic is correct, his bitterness is classic stuff!

It sucks that I can't fully enjoy how beautifully this game is going with the stupidity that took place earlier today in the back of my mind.

He makes 18.8M this year. That's why people hold him to higher standards and always say he's struggling if he's not dominant. This is nothing you don't already know though.

So Careless, that HR from Soriano was off a RH pitcher. Im sure that was all on the pitcher and not on Soriano though right?

Well, it was an inside pitch, so you tell me: mistake or design? I was in the kitchen

They need to put hawks call at the end of buerhreehrle's perfect game in a time capsule for a later reminder of what not to do in the booth.

Good hitters make pitchers pay for mistakes they make. More hits/hr's come off mistake pitches than off good pitches. I don't understand why you are doing this with Soriano. Last year pitchers made mistakes, and he'd still do nothing with them. Soriano is a mistake type hitter, and thats perfectly fine as most pitchers aren't going to go a whole at bat without making some kind of mistake. Its taking advantage of those mistakes that makes good hitters.
