I may have seen ARam struggle this bad at the plate but I don't remember it.

I was looking thru his past splits just a little today looking for a similar stretch. There wasn't many, if any. It's discouraging but I'm still optimistic he'll be fine at this point.

WTG, Soriano

All of these loud outs by the Mets do not bode well at all.

Make 'em put the ball in play, hard hits or otherwise. There's 9 fielders to make a play (countdown to a Soriano comment). Beats giving hitters a free base via walks!!

They're not "just outs." It's the same as looking at a hitter who has been largely unlucky because they're hitting the ball hard but right at defenders. If a pitcher is getting wailed on for several innings it's not a good sign even if they're almost all loud outs. It's much more encouraging to see him have something like the 4th as opposed to guys continuing to see him well.

Agreed.

And I'd still rather see the other team hit to get on as opposed to free passes. As evidenced by this game, loud outs are....outs.

Yeah, I can dig on that.

Soriano is still batting .151 against right handed pitchers not on the Astros

You're getting silly.

I'm pointing out that there's no evidence he's stopped sucking against righties willing to throw him something that is not all inside pitches. Look up the pitchfx data yourself if you want to see.

Careless are you still doing this? Give it up, if you really pay attention to Soriano then you know when he gets hot it DOES NOT MATTER who he faces. Did you not watch him vs. CC Sabathia 2 yrs back???? People like you drive me nuts, when a player is hot give them credit. Let me guess you have boo'd him atleast once tonight?

I've seen it. If you're going to nitpick Soriano to that degree then you can't even justify him having a career in the majors at all, much less just pointing out how he's had a decent start to the season. He's an enigma that way, as is the question of why don't teams just pitch only to his obvious flaws. What's silly is expecting that teams are going to suddenly start only pitching away from him when they haven't been for a decade now.

C.C. Sabathia the lefty, in 2007? There's not one thing that's accurate or responsive in your post.

All I'm saying is that there is a very good alternate explanation to his sudden outburst of offense to him coming around. His offensive production has been more a result of the pitcher than his personal peaks and valleys.

The point is that Soriano is and has always been 2 different players, when he is hot it is hard to get him out, when he is not hot he looks like [expletive]. I do not know why every time someone celebrates Soriano's success you have to try to bring it down.

And you know for sure that his streaky ways in the past aren't similarly accountable?
