It really is a nice way to cleanse the pallet with a win like that. If Aramis can just get going this offense is showing it can be a LOT better than what we've seen.

Why was it stupid to leave Marshall in for more than 1 inning??? he's not a loogy, and he's been effective in the pen. tonight, he just happened to be better in the 7th than the 8th.

I wonder, will tonight's performance will earn soto consistent playing time? What is his OBP at this point?

Because you have other guys in the bullpen desperate for pitching time in low leverage situations. The Cubs need to capitalize on those. Besides, it's usually not a bad idea to make sure the opposing team doesn't have a chance to adjust to a reliever if he's given you a good inning, especially if it's a pitcher without overwhelming stuff. It's not like he had to go back out there because the bullpen was taxed or because the lead was close. In short, there was no need to send him back out there. He's a reliever, he got you your three outs, you have other guys that need to pitch; pick someone else.

Soto has been hitting well for a while now. Lou needs to use Koyie Hill as what he is, a backup catcher.

As for the game, we really needed one like this after the last 4 coupled with Lous idiotic move earlier today.

Something really does need to be done about Ramirez. Its gone past bad luck and he looks lost at pretty much every AB. We need a legit cleanup hitter. I like Byrd, but hes not it.

Bat Soriano 4th and Soto 5th. If Soriano starts to go cold then flip them. Hopefully by the end of this month we'll be seeing Aramis looking more like Aramis again.

We were desperate for a win. The lead wasn't so big I would feel fully safe putting in one of the others. We needed to get some positive going before things imploded.

You don't trust anyone but Marshall and Marmol to get 3 outs while giving up less than 5 runs??

a smart manager (ie not Lou) would go with a lineup like this for awhile:

1. Fukudome

2. Byrd

3. Lee

4. Soriano

5. Soto

6. Ramirez

7. Fontenot/Baker

8. Theriot
