The primary problem with the bullpen is no one can throw strikes, so, in response, you move Zambrano, who couldn't throw strikes if his life depended on it, to the pen. That computes.

You think so? How many times have we seen see Z start the game unable to throw a strike? He's come out issuing BB's before, except this time he'll have little to no margin for error.

Having Colvin up has just been stupid with a team struggling as much as this one. There's simply no way to justify squeezing him into lineups right now. He needs to be in the minors getting starts to see if he can capitalize on the slim chance of being more than a 4th OFer while the Cubs only need someone who is basically only a defensive replacement as the 5th OFer, like Fuld.
