Someone suggest who should be out there in a situation where the Cubs go into the inning down 1 run in the 8th inning. Lou keeps thowing Shark out there because there are not even enough proven bullpen arms to pitch the 8th with a 1 run lead, much less a 1 run defecit, and also because Shark is getting a crapload more money to pitch for the Cubs than any of the other guys in the pen, and they have to exhaust all options before they ruin his confidence and send him back to AAA yet again.

 

It's not an ideal situation, nor do I really agree, but I'm not signing the paychecks so...

Shark is the worst.

 

Russell deserves more opportunities. He is the only one outside of Marshall and Marmol that has done well. He's got a sub 1.00 WHIP and hasn't allowed a run in 4 appearances.
