It looked like a good pitch to hit on Gameday. You always look to swing at a hittable pitch right away with the bases loaded, the pitcher doesn't want to fall behind(especially after 2 walks and a coaching visit).

 

That assumes the guy is grooving one on the first pitch, and that was not close to the truth.

I thought the first pitch of the at bat was a strike. Comcast was just coming back from commercial break. Either way, this kid has to learn how to throw strikes. He is facing 7-8-9, not Braun and Fielder.

Not sure where that 1-1 pitch was. Maybe Campos occasionally moves the entire strike zone a foot outside to keep things interesting.

I don't have a problem with a player swinging at a pitch he things he can hit well early in the count.

 

That said, I did not see the pitch so I can't really comment on whether he should have swung at it or not.
