Bobby Lu was quoted as saying his Canucks are still better than the Hawks however, the Hawks are a smarter team that knows how to win. Nice contradiction Bobby...

In what I read he wasn't saying the Canucks were better. I believe the quote was more like he didn't think the Blackhawks were necessarily better than Vancouver, but maybe smarter. Essentially he called them even with Chicago's discipline/smarts being the difference, and while I'm still a hockey novice, I'd have to agree with that sentiment.

I'm not sure about his contract situation, but if I was Vancouver I'd think about a coaching change...

Too much talent on that team to implode at home 0-3 in a huge playoff series for that town and those fans. They aren't getting rid of Luongo, probably not breaking up the Sedins. You can make the case that the internals on that team are not strong, which I would think tends to point at the coach...

So claim the Canucks are still better all you want, Bobby. You're part of that team too, and looking at it from the outside, you just didn't measure up to Q.

They have a stud goalie in juniors, which could intensify the calls to try to trade Bobby.

Isn't his big extension starting this year? That would have to be a really tough contract to move.

Go Flyers. The Sunday game would be on NBC Sunday afternoon. I think it gives the Hawks an ideal amount of rest and it gives the Sharks a full week off which could cause some rust.

Ehhh...I wanna watch hockey though! Far more important.

The Vancouver Province reports: A dejected Canucks fan has placed Roberto Luongo for sale on Craigslist:

"Sulking, belligerent and grossly over-rated goaltender who can't stop a beach ball, seeks new gig," reads the "job wanted" ad posted as the Blackhawks' 5-1 victory Tuesday in Game 6 was winding down.

The headline was just as biting: "Goalie will play for pasta, hair gel and $7.5 million."

This marks the second straight season that Luongo has been shelled by the Blackhawks in a season-ending Game 6 loss. A year ago, Luongo gave up a Patrick Kane hat trick in a 7-5 loss at the United Center.

I just had this thought going through my head (you can tell I'm focused on work today) when I went over to the Daily Herald to see what Sassone had to say:

The headline says it all and I agree. I don't even think Pittsburgh can hang with either of these teams. Their struggles with a short-handed Montreal team show that well enough. And neither Boston nor Philly concern me at all.

Smarter, know how to win and won the series is that not the better team?

I agree with Jersey, I really don't think he was taking a shot at the Hawks. In fact I think it was a shot at his own team, such as "we are evenly matched but they didn't play like jackasses or put on their invisibility cloaks for most of the series."

Vancouver is still two defensemen short in my opinion, after seeing them play. I guess Mitchell could be one of those two.

Blackhawks are one 8-6 stretch away from winning it all.

Not to overlook any opponents ahead of us, but in my opinion they are a 4-3 stretch from winning it all. Crazier things have happened though. If Montreal beats Pittsburgh tonight, I'll feel much stronger about that statement of course.

Fun canuck stat: Vancouver had only lost 8 games in regulation at home all year going into the series, and none by more than 2 goals.

I haven't really wrapped my head around how much of a real possibility this is.

My response to reading this post was to giggle.

It's great to be able to sit back and just watch the games tonight without the nerves.

Especially that Montreal-Pittsburgh game. That should be some great hockey.

I don't know why, but I've thought the Boston-Philly series has been the ugly stepchild of this round of the playoffs. Just no interest in those games at all. I suppose that will change if Philly wins tonight.

Last year, it seemed the Blackhawks were just happy to be there and Detroit was by far the superior team. This year, the Hawks have a very very good chance of winning this series.
