Off days suck. They especially suck early in the season. I'm glad we're all done with the off day in the middle of a series crap for the rest of the season now (barring a rainout, of course.)

Go Cubs. Let's get back to .500!

I'll be there Wednesday, and I haven't been at a Cub victory in 3 years.

And you are going why??????????

Do everything you normally do on the games you have gone to, but do the opposite!

How about just not go to the game?

I heard that guy from Notre Dame isn't ever going to give up another run.

He's retiring tomorrow?

Or he'll be sent down to the minors and never appear in MLB again? I am 100% OK with either.

Greetings one and all from beautiful Monroe, LA !!!

Well, the CUBS won their home opener !!! In the process, they broke their string of 5 consecutive quality starts. Just in case anybody cares, the last time the CUBS strung together 6 QS in a row........ last year they had 8 in a row !! .... and all on the road.

Lee out of the lineup for X today

Full lineup:

Theriot

Fukudome

Ramirez

Byrd

Nady

Soriano

Fontenot

Soto

Wells

Also, Jeff Gray is with the Cubs per Carrie Muskat. She says to expect Caridad to go on the DL, I would assume with a made-up injury.

If Caridad is going to the DL, I doubt it is a made up injury. He wasn't on the list of the first couple of players to likely be sent down. He also is a 26 year old with all 3 option years left, so the Cubs would feel no need to protect him with a DL stint. If they felt he wasn't good enough, they would just use one of those options and send him to the minors to get some more work.

I'm assuming this is because of his wrist? Is there any more info on this?

Only thing I've seen is his x-rays were negative and he's day to day.

Unlike you guys, I love off days off of a win. We get a chance to savor it! Now, it's time for our first winning streak.

Plus wasn't it his thumb as opposed to his wrist?

It is his thumb, and the x-rays came up negative so he is day to day.
