Oh, that was a terrible call !!

That was angel hernandez. It should come to be expected at this point.

Yeah, I see they've scrambled the umpiring crews again this year.

I dont know who the other two are, but with Joe West and Angel Hernandez this has to be one of the worst in baseball. Might as well throw CB Bucknor in there too and get as many worthless umps in one place as possible.

This crew is:

HP: Joe West, cc

1b: Angel Hernandez

2b: Paul Schreiber

3b: Rob Drake.

Last year, West's crew was......

Joe West

Paul Schrieber

Paul Nauert

Jeff Kellogg

While Angel Hernandez was on Tim Welke's crew.......

Tim Welke

Bill Welke

Angel Hernandez

Jim Reynolds

Isn't Rob Drake known for picking fights?

Girardi's bullpen management blew the game for them. If he leaves Robertson in for a 2nd inning instead of Park they probably win.

Did I hear wrong or did Orel just say C.C. averaged 260 innings a year over the last three years. Uhhh no Orel.

Uhhh no Bum.

You're forgetting the playoffs. Sabathia pitched 241, 253 and 230 in the regular season the last three years and then 15 1/3, 3 2/3 and 36 1/3 which is 779 1/3 innings total. That's two outs shy of a 260 average.

OMC should be happy. Seth Smith is starting for the Rockies.

Hopefully the Rox can get off to a nice start this season as well!

I think they are good, but I can't get on the Rockies are a top NL contender wagon when Greg Smith will be starting their second game of the season. I see the Brewers winning 2 of 3.

Fangraphs' opening day chat, running all day with a bunch of internet stathead names participating, has been pretty good.

"10:34

Dan Szymborski: I like how Houston's plan to winning the division, have their 4 good player somehow play 162 games, was thwarted by game 1."

Some interesting line ups.

Edmonds batting 5th

Bruce batting 6th with Rolen batting 5th

Alex Cora batting leadoff lol with Mike Jacobs cleaning up

Dusty Ball!

Edmonds batting fifth is a bit puzzling I would think they would want to bat him 6th and McGhee 5th to break up the lefties. Also I think Zaun or Gomez should be hitting 8th with Escobar moving to 2nd as he isn't going to get as good of pitches batting 8th as he would with Braun backing him and the fact that Escobar should be in the lineup more regularly than Gomez or Zaun.

Jesus Christ the Cardinals game hasnt even started yet and their announcers are already driving me crazy. "Adam Wainwright, who should have won the Cy Young last year", and " David Freese is going to hit at least 20 home runs this year". Horrible

Like I said in page 1, this is my first year with EI. I couldn't decide if I was going to watch this on ESPN or the ST louis feed or Cincy, looks like I made the right choice
