Hey Raisin, according to Peegs Howland was at Bloomington South's open gym. Even rumors Carlino will graduate early and suit up for the Bruins next year.

 

Carlino being able to graduate early has been a big plus since the Bruins are so weak in the backcourt. Just curious, what is Peegs?

 

Oh, sorry I spoke to you as if you were an Illinois fan. Peegs is the main IU message board, ran by Mike Pegram ("peegs") out of Columbus, IN (it's now a rivals.com site though). I believe you can certainly consider this information accurate.

 

Well, the UCLA Scout board now has confirmation that Howland has been in Bloomington. I'm pretty pleased as UCLA desperately needs the backcourt depth and scoring (of course, I can't imagine a kid skipping his SR year of high school would be able to contribute much his freshman year).

 

Well, he's old for his age and pretty physically mature. I think he'd have a shot to contribute some.

Cody Larson asked for and was granted his release. If rumors of Aaron Fuller departing are true, next season is going to be another very long one unless Fran can pull something out of his ass and land a couple big ones.

I think Fuller is gone. 4th straight year of our best player transferring at the end of the year.

 

It hurts for next year but we'll see what Fran can do. I expected some transfers/decommits and it's not a bad thing given that the style of play and types of players recruited are so different. Unfortunately Larson was our best recruit and Fuller turned into our best player last year.

I would expect Archie/Brommer to leave with him here soon along with Larson/Brust possibly not coming. Scoop also has it that Cully Payne is 50/50 too and considering transferring. Iowa might be fielding a 6-7 man team this season, and they're going to be really really bad.

for that, they're gonna need to borrow some of those ku sorcerers and i just don't know if that can happen. how do you ask to borrow a wizard? i guess they could just ask for some cash but i doubt it would be as effective.
