Just heard on the radio that Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network is reporting that the Redskins are trying to

trade Albert Haynesworth.

John Clayton seems to think the Titans are interested in reacquiring Haynesworth, but I am not sure if Tennessee really want that contract tho.

I'd actually be very interested in re-acquiring Albert. The draft pick to get him likely wouldn't be high at all and the Redskins would be paying the entire guaranteed portion of his salary (I believe). He's a perfect fit for the Titans' defensive scheme and might be re-energized to be back in a system he knows he can be successful in.

I'm trying to think of the last major free agent the Skins picked up (during Snyder's era) that's work out for them.

Portis was a trade. How about Darrell Green? Or one of the tackles (Jansen or Samuels)?

Jansen, Samuels and Green were all drafted by the Skins.

Alright, I couldn't remember how they were all acquired. I can't think of any major free agents who have worked out then.

Which my point is.....when the Skins trade Albert maybe, just maybe, Snyder should put his pocket book away for awhile and start this thing call "building through the draft."

I do not disagree with you here.

I have an answer for your question RedFlash. Andre Carter signed as a free agent and has been productive.

The Haynesworth rumors are swirling here.

I still think it’s a far-fetched idea that Haynesworth would return to the Titans, and don’t expect it to happen. Now do I think the Titans should be interested in Haynesworth? Of course. He’s the most dominant defensive tackle in the NFL.

Do I think the Titans are interested? Again, of course. He’s the most dominant defensive tackle in the NFL. And I've been told the Titans are interested if the Redskins are willing to part ways with Haynesworth as part of a bargain-basement deal.

I'd be very interested in dealing a 3rd, a DT (likely Tony Brown) and another draft pick (maybe a 4th-5th this year, maybe a higher one next year) for Albert. From what I've heard, the Titans would only owe him basically a 3 yr/$16 mil contract if Washington paid his bonus.

So basically throughout Snyder's tenure, he has signed the likes of Bruce Smith, Jeff George, Deion Sanders, Albert Haynesworth, Shawn Springs, that a player like Andre Carter ends up prolly the Skins best FA acquisition under Dan's watch.

Purely on FA signings, yeah.

For the Steelers to send Holmes away for almost nothing but stand behind Roethlisberger looks like a major double standard and at least bordering being racist.

For the league to suspend Holmes before any conviction (and others) but do nothing with Roethlisberger when he has had two bad incidents in a year is pretty clearly racism to me.

I don't tend to throw that term around lightly but this is awful. If Goodell is going to arbitrarily go against his rules whenever it is a white a franchise QB in trouble then he needs to go. I am all for what Goodell has been doing. Just because a guy wasn't proved guilty doesn't mean he wasn't doing things that aren't good for the league. Pac-Man was an example of that and he was suspended. Roethlisberger is an example of that he hasn't been suspended or even talked to. Be consistent Goodell whether that is doing nothing or always doing something.

Holmes is being suspended for violating the drug policy, not for allegedly hitting the woman. If Holmes is suspended, it would be for much different reasons than Rothlisberger and not because he is black.

"While criminal activity is clearly outside the scope of permissible conduct, and persons who engage in criminal activity will be subject to discipline, the standard of conduct for persons employed in the NFL is considerably higher. It is not enough ... See Moresimply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. Instead, as an employee of the NFL or a member club, you are held to a higher standard and expected to conduct yourself in a way that is responsible, promotes the values upon which the League is based, and is lawful.

Persons who fail to live up to this standard of conduct are guilty of conduct detrimental and subject to discipline, even where the conduct itself does not result in conviction of a crime."

But what you don't know is whether or not Ben got away with something or was accused of something he didn't come close to doing. If everything his security staff provides him suggests Ben didn't do anything wrong, then it's not like the lack of a conviction means he has to suspend him. It's a huge stretch based on a lot of assumptions for what you are saying to be correct.

It seems like the Steelers are the one organization that probably shouldn't be accused of anything bordering on racist.
