Please don't choke Packers and I guess go Cowboys. I prefer to avoid a rematch with the Vikings.

Not me. I want the Vikes. Knocking Brett Favre out of the playoffs would be better than sex.

I'm rooting for the Eagles. I want the NFC title game at Lambeau.

Cincinnati 17 NY Jets 16

New Orleans 27 Philadelphia 24

Minnesota 31 Green Bay 21 (kill me)

Not to call either set of picks out, but I'll be shocked if the Colts only manage 23 points against the Bengals or beat the Jets by only four. If they play either, that is.

Says the Colts fan :)

I think the Bengals defense is good enough to hold the Colts to 23 points. To get to 23, the most likely scenario is 2 TDs and 3 FGs, so 5 scoring drives. So the Colts consistently are moving the ball on the Bengals, but the good run d of the Bengals holds the Colts to a couple of FGs.

I mean the 2006 Colts finished 2nd in the NFL in points in the regular season (more than they scored this year) and were held to 23 and 15 points respectively in their first 2 playoff games. The 2005 Colts same thing in the regular season, 18 points in their playoff game. 2004 Colts were a record setting offense in the regular season and after destroying the Broncos (putting up 49 points), they scored just 3 in the next round.

Knew that was coming. :) I think I have a pretty decent reading of the Colts. I remember being about the only person who thought the Chargers could/would beat the Colts last year.

let's hope the bengals were just messing with the jets yesterday.

The game wasn't that meaningful for the Bengals, I'd be surprised if they showed much of their gameplan last night.

I agree but trying or not there's no excuse for your starting QB to go 1-11 for 0 bet yards or for your entire offense to gain the least amount of net yards in franchise history.

Combine that with how poor they've been playing as of late and things aren't great in Bengal land heading into the playoffs.

the bengals played pretty well against the chargers and chiefs.

I didn't watch the Chiefs game but my impression from Bengals fans that I talked to was that it was a mediocre game by the Bengals. The Chargers game I'll give you but before that they got destroyed by the Colts.

I think the Bengals are better than people give them credit for. This Jets/Bengals game reeks of the type of game where the media all jumps on the Jets everyone writes off the Bengals forgetting the kind of football they played to get into the playoffs, and the Bengals come out at home and dominate.

When was the last time an NFL wild-card playoff game featured a week 17 rematch, much less three?

It's definitely happened more than a handful of times. I am drawing a blank on examples but it's happened multiple times in the last maybe 10 years (1 rematch that is)

NFL Network said last night it has happened 9 times and the team that won the final week matchup is 4-5 the following week.

I remember one year that the Colts lost big to the Broncos in week 17 (the usual Peyton Manning one-series-and-done), then turned around and beat the Broncos (and I don't think it was even close) the next week in the playoffs.

2003 Week 16: Broncos 31, Colts 17 (full participation).

2003-04 Wild Card Game: Colts 41, Broncos 10.

2004 Week 17: Broncos 33, Colts 14 (with Manning, et al, resting).

2004-05 Wild Card Game: Colts 49, Broncos 24.

I was thinking of 2004-05. The previous year wasn't back-to-back weeks since they played in week 16, not 17.

I figure I'll put this here. 2 Rams fans fighting over a shoe fall from the stands. Not too bright in St. Louis, are they?

if you lived in missouri, i'll bet you'd be pretty excited by the prospect of shoe ownership yourself

Here is a "fun" idea... (fun?)

Rank the QB's left in the playoffs from 1-12. (This is NOT my order)

Peyton Manning

Drew Brees

Brett Favre

Phillip Rivers

Carson Palmer

Tony Romo

Tom Brady

Kurt Warner

Joe Flacco

Aaron Rodgers

Donovan McNabb

Mark Sanchez

I'm going to take all the home teams except Green Bay, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets beat Cincy as long as they don't let Sanchez screw up too much.

Almost impossible to differentiate much between the top 6-7. Has to be one of the strongest groups of QB's in the playoffs that I can remember.

Manning

Brees

Rivers

Brady

Favre

Rodgers

Romo

Warner

McNabb

Inspired by this article. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/1000 ... ?GT1=39002. I thought it would be fun to give my top 10 BOLD predictions. Make fun if you want.....

10. None of last year's "worst to first/playoffs" will make the playoffs in 2009. The Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins will all be watching the playoffs from home this year.

9. The Cincinnati Bengals will go 8-8 this year.

8. They ain't dead yet. Tomlinson, OchoCinco, Westbrook, and Larry Johnson will all have good years. Not like they've had in the past, but LT, LJ, and 85 will all be over 1000 yards. Westbrook will be good for 850 rush/500 receiving. All 4 will score at least 8 times.

7. The San Francisco 49ers will sweep the NFC North this year, and somehow still NOT have a winning record.

6. There will be two 1-15 teams this year. The Detroit Lions will NOT be one of them.

5. The New York Jets will make the playoffs as Mark Sanchez follows in the footsteps of Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco before him.

4. Will be a busy trade deadline as at least 3 big names will be traded among those will be Brandon Marshall, Thomas Jones, Braylon Edwards, Tavaris Jackson/Sage Rosenfels, Willie Parker, and Terrell Owens.

3. Ray Rice, Miles Austin, Kevin Smith, Robert Meachem, and Chansi Stuckey will all have breakout seasons.

2. Brees, Peterson, and Fitzgerald will NOT be the leading passer, rusher and receiver in yards, respectively.

1. The Minnesota Vikings will finish in 3rd place and OUT of the NFC playoffs.

Here are my bold predictions before the season. Lets see how I did.

10. Right about Atlanta and Miami. Baltimore squeaked in as 6-seed. 2 outta 3 ain't bad.

9. I should have put at least 8 wins, which was the point because everyone thought they would be bad.

8. OchoCinco was the only one that came thru. LT got the TDs. LJ got benched and traded. Westbrook got his head busted. 1 of 4. ugh!

7. Didn't have a winning record, lost to Min on a miracle play, 6 short of comeback vs. GB.

6. There was only one 1-win team. And they were the only team to finish worse than Detroit

5. Jets did luck into playoffs.

4. Edwards was traded. 1 out of 3.

3. Got 3 of 5. Rice, Austin, and Meachem had great years. Stuckey and Smith...not so much.

2. I was right! None of them finished 2nd either.

1. Way wrong!

Yup, I was just putting all the Colts-Broncos info out there.

The 03 week 16 game is the only NFL game I've ever been to. Thanks a lot, jerks.
