That was a whole lot of fun. Nothing like both our game and the Giants game being basically decided at halftime.

The NFC is completely wide open. Any of the six teams in the playoffs will have a somewhat realistic chance at advancing to the Super Bowl.

That seems premature.

It isn't. Think of the Saints as the Cubs. They're toast.

They're banged up. They missed a chip shot field goal. The Saints are fine. I do think they need to run it a little more though...why do they ignore Pierre Thomas? Did he get hurt?

I didn't get that either. Where were Bush and Bell? It was still a pretty important game for the Saints.

Pierre Thomas left with bruised ribs....maybe cracked...waiting on x-rays.

Ah, thanks.

Brandon Stokley ejected. Pretty dumb - he was pissed at the ref for not calling PI and ended up making contact with the ref (basically slapped the ref's palm like a high-5).

I'm excited/nervous as hell. Luckily, since my team isn't the favorite to win it all I'm less likely to break things.

I agree though, every team in the NFC has a great shot. I still think it will be tough to beat Minnesota at the dome and are still my pick to win, especially if the Saints falter (and they beat Chicago and the Giants) and teams have to go to their place.

I'm praying that Green Bay ends Favres season. That would be epic and would be a step below a Super Bowl win in awesomeness.

and my opponent in the 2-week championship has Brees, love it

gotta figure out how to spend all my money now

My opponent has Rivers, but I have Rodgers. Going to be a battle of backups between Garrard and Ryan.

That's a really strange time to take Peyton out of the game.

And screw the Colts for doing it. Now they're losing because they have Curtis Painter in the game.

Put Peyton back in and go for 16-0. Resting the guys didn't help them at all in the playoffs a few years ago when they won their first 12 or 13.

I can understand resting the starters, but why wait until late in the third quarter with just a five-point lead to pull only Peyton? It just seems really random to pull him there. Especially after it appeared Peyton thought he was going to play the entire game, as long as it was competitive.

Peyton seemed to have no idea that he was going to be pulled. Why wouldn't Caldwell consult with Peyton before pulling him?

Peyton should give Caldwell the finger and just go in on the next drive.

You're really giving up the game by pulling Peyton there. It really makes no sense.

Awesomeness from Saints owner Tom Benson while the kick was in the air and then after it veered off course:

I completely understand pulling the starters if you're up three TDs or sitting guys that have nagging injuries, but like you said, pulling him in a five-point game late in the third quarter doesn't make much sense.

If Peyton doesn't go back in, I'll definitely be rooting against the Colts in the playoffs.

If it was predetermined, that's one thing. But that's a random spot to pull the starters, plus apparently not even telling them you plan to beforehand?

Manning really had a painful look on his face heading into that last commercial break.

I really don't get it. If the Colts were up, say, 22-10 then maybe but 15-10 and that much time to play.......they have just rolled over to hand the Jets the game.

After much profanity-laced ranting and raving -- and don't get me wrong, I'm still pissed -- the Colts wanted to lose so the Jets made the playoffs. They did the same a few years ago with Denver. Conspiracy theory perhaps, but I think they wanted the Jets in.

Doesn't mean I'm not still furious.

But the Jets will be out in the first round, so it doesn't really matter. Damn it!!! The Colts always play like crap in the playoffs when they sit for the last game or two at the end of the season. I hate this.
