Those are the people who escort others out of buildings.

Yes, in the absence of escorts.

Escorts escort you into buildings, and leave on their own.

Where I come from it's called doing the hibbidy-dibbidy.

I don't mind Brown being escorted out of the building, but security? Really?

Kind of, yeah.

I think you are basically wishing it didn't have to go down like that. So do I. But the reason it had to happen is more because Alex showed up where he shouldn't have, rather than because the Bears acted poorly.

Yes, I wish it didn't go down like that. I get it had to happen, but this is a man who has played his entire career with Bears, you're telling me there is nobody at Halas Hall (other then security) that could have taken a couple of minutes to meet with Brown and tell him he can't be there?

Big whoop. He's not on the Bears anymore. He wasn't an MVP, or a Super Bowl winner, or some future HoF candidate...what obligation do they have to treat him with kid gloves? They didn't mistreat him...they just asked him to leave, and walked him out. What's the big deal?

This is not worth the amount of discussion it's received.

What is your damn problem? I gave my opinion, and I've moved on. No need to get your panties in a bunch.

It's June 23rd. I'm kind of starting to look forward to late July now. Even though I don't really expect a great season. It will be nice to have football to talk about again.

Bears football now please. While another year of mediocrity is probable, their chances of making the playoffs and advancing are lightyears ahead of the Cubs.

It helps to start out with the Lions at home. Bad thing is, if we lose that game it might be enough to derail the entire season.

It's a little more scary to face the Lions first game. You don't know what they are going to be. Plus, crazy things can happen in the first game of the season that don't really speak to the rest of the season.

Plus I don't trust a Lovie team to be prepared out of the gate.

There are reasons why the Bears may lose that game. Heck, the Lions might actually be decent this year.

Eh, I'm not that concerned about their ability to start the season. They beat the Colts on opening night, beat Green Bay once as well (then destroyed Detroit in week 2). Since they became good under Lovie (2005) they are 2-3 on week 1, losing to a couple good teams in GB and San Diego, and losing another road game in Washington. If they didn't have so many tough road games on opening weekends, they'd probably have a better record. I'm more worried about the middle of the season, which is when most of the bad years have fallen apart.

Yeah, if anything Week 1 should be closer to the Week 17, 2009 Lions than it will be to the Week 17, 2010 Lions. They still have the same coaching staff, I believe. So, it's not going to be a scheme change to give them a boost ala Green Bay in the opener last year.

I've gone back and forth all offseason about this team. On one hand, Martz has shown he is good for adding 4-6 points to an offense and a healthy Urlacher, Pisa, the addition of Peppers and development of Bowman and Wright could lead to a much improved team. On the other hand, the offensive lineman I have the most confidence in played mediocrely at RT for 3/4 of the season, the young skilled players are largely unproven, and there are some key players on D that are at or approaching 30.

The Bears could be anywhere from 5-11 to 11-5, reasonably speaking.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter posted on his Twitter account Wednesday morning that the Bears are among three teams -- which includes the Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks -- that have “debated making a run” at San Diego Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson, a restricted free agent, in the midst of a potentially long holdout.

Call me crazy, but I'm going to step way out and say that I don't want the Bears to go after Vincent Jackson.

I'm thinking it will take at least a 2nd round pick and maybe a 4th or 5th. I'd rather keep the picks, keep the money (he wants more than Brandon Marshall's 4/$47Mil), and hope Aromashodu, Hester, Knox and Iglesias all develop. If not, I think you have a pretty loaded class of WRs, if everyone comes out and a good one could be had in the 2nd.

Jackson is a very good WR. But I don't rate him as one of the elite guys, though he is a notch below. He's not a Andre Johnson, Fitz, Moss, Wayne, Marshall, or even Roddy White that will get you 80-90 catches in his sleep, but he will get paid like them. He does give you the big play, but I don't think that's missing in the Bears offense with all their speed.

And this pains me to say, with as much as I want a Bears jersey that says "Jackson" on the back and not be a made up one.

I'm with you raw. The article mentioned that the Brandon Marshall deal might be the template for any deal for Jackson, and that was two 2nd rounders. I'd hate to give up more draft picks. But Lovie and Angelo are on the hot seat, so maybe they aren't thinking about those future picks like we are.

I definitely do not want to go big after this guy. Sure I'd like to have him, but he is not a true elite receiver, and in my opinion, those are the only guys you go hard after. The rest depend on the team they play for. If he was a free agent, sure, but giving up high picks + the contract just is not enticing.

It's interesting we are thinking about going after him. I'm not sure how they would fit that proposed contract in though.

I'd like to have him, but I also hate sitting on the sidelines every draft because we traded away every high pick.

It's not even that for me. If you told me the Bears are going to make a Jay Cutler like move and get an affordable young superstar in the making and never pick in the 1st 2 rounds again, I'd be fine with it (generically speaking). But a move for Jackson would be falling into the Cubs trap of spending big money and failing to continue to infuse young talent in to get better.

It could be a trade of someone like Hester and a late round pick, too. I'm not sure how I'd feel about that, but it's probably better than two picks.

I would hate losing Hester, but I would definately part with Devin in a VJax deal.

Woah what? Jackson won't turn 28 till after this season is over, so if you trade for him and sign him to a 5 yr deal you get him for ages 27-32. We are talking about a guy who averages over 17 yards per catch. Yea hes never been the 100 catch reciever like some other guys in the league but hes gradually progressed his catches every year in the league from 41 to 59, and to 68 this past year. Hes played on a San Diego offense that hasn't lacked talent and that spreads the ball around pretty good.

With this organizations history of developing offensive guys, Id have no problem giving up a 2nd round pick for Jackson. I think you guys are severely underestimating him here.

The lack of that continued influx of young talent is what scares me, especially on defense. The mid-decade drafts really caught up to this team in a hurry.
