Yeah, move over Packer fans. Im on the Fire Mike McCarthy bandwagon.

Going into the 4th, the Packers had dropped back to pass 24 times (12 completions, two sacks, two interceptions, two runs). Ryan Grant and Ahman Green to that point had rushed a combined 20 times for 110 yards (5.5 average).

We were going into a hard wind, we cant protect the QB and the Bucs had the 30th ranked run defense in the league. Its inexcusable to not keep running the ball. When Ahman freakin' Green is running all over a defense, you probably should figure it out that we should keep running it.

Also, the packers special teams could be the worse in football.

When your up 11 in the 4th, against a 0-7 team, starting a rookie QB and you don't win,ugh.... unreal.

Rodger's looked like total crap today, he picked a horrible day to have his worst game of the season. I'm guessing that his feet may have been really bothering him. Rodgers has a tendency to fall in love with the deep ball, and I really hate it. We have some of the best YAC guys in the league and we are throwing 40 yard bombs at least ten times a game. Each time Rodgers was picked he was going down field. Also quit rolling him out, he holds onto the ball way too long when rolling out of the pocket. Get rid of the rock quicker.

Ahman Green looked surprisingly good today and I think could prove to be a valuable addition down the stretch.

Oline still sucks.

I really hope Mike McCarthy is gone at the end of the year. The Packers are way too undisciplined, and special teams have been awful this year. Both are tell tale signs of poorly coached football teams. I should know too, because I've watched a Ron Zook coached team every game for five years.

His need to go deep all the time also factors into a lot of his sacks.

He's got the Sexy Rexy streak in him, and it's not a good quality at all to have. That deep ball intended to Jennings was just plain stupid. He had four Bucs around him.

It was the wrong decision, however it was a perfect pass right in Jennings hands. He probably makes that catch 9 outta 10 times. But throwing it with that many guys around Jennings is still not that smart

I can't believe after all the offseason hoopla that the Vikings have a 3 game lead over both the Bears and Packers at the midway point. And it's a 4 game lead over the Packers with the tiebreaker.

Next three games are at home against Detroit, Seattle and Chicago. Have to go 2-1. 3-0 and we could almost have the division wrapped up with 5 games to go.

Then again, with the way every season goes with all of my teams it's only a matter of time before Favre or Adrian go down and the season goes up in flames.

Congrats Dew.

I'm officially completely and utterly fed up with the 49ers offense. Frank Gore is averaging 6.2 yards a carry the last two games yet has only got 14 rushes per game. WTF!?! What happened to the smack you in the mouth style offense Singletary? What's even more frustrating is we have led both the Titans and Colts the entire game heading into the fourth quarter. Also the Colts suck against power running. I am completely confused.

You didn't hear that the NFL mandated the West Coast Offense for the 49ers? Really, though, that sounds ridiculous, but I hope it continues next week. I'm sure Gore could get around 10 YPC against the Bears

i don't know why teams don't run screen passes a lot more than they do

They're risky for a number of reasons. You need your offensive line to be smart and capable, you need the defense to not get there too quickly, if the defense expects it they'll tackle the receiver for a loss... I don't think most teams call it significantly less often than it would make sense for them to

and if you were a Bears fan instead of a Packers fan, you'd be much, much more skeptical about the value of the screen

well yeah, it has to fit the personnel, but the good teams run them flawlessly

And they are successful because they run them scarce enough the defense doesn't expect it. All it takes is one defender on that side of the field to see it coming and its blown up. You have to run it when the defense won't expect it. If you do it 10-15 times a game teams are going to expect it.

and that opens the inside run, exactly what you want

The front 7 don't have to stay out to make screens a bad idea, they just have to realize that the quarterback still has the ball and it might be a good idea for some of them who aren't next to the QB to stay near the RB or whoever. In other news, the Bengals and Cardinals called about one screen against the Bears, a team that couldn't get anyone near the QB.

You'd think the Bears defensive line and the Packers offensive line would be instantly converted into pure energy when they came into contact, they're that perfectly matched as crappy opposites.

Hence they get no penetration and are still sitting at the line of scrimmage when you try to screen pass. The key to a good screen is allowing the d-line to penetrate but not far enough to get a sack.
