Love baseball even though the two teams that are playing make me puke

There's nothing wrong with the Angels. They are likable team.

The rally monkey and those clappers and Vlad, though I admire him as a ballplayer, rubs me the wrong way. I guess it was ever since he gave me the burned burger at the last block part.

no way, Vlad is awesome. He's so old school. Terrible mechanics but still hits the hell out of the ball with a great eye.

Wait, what?

Now I didn't say I didn't love his golf swinging homeruns, or homers from balls that Dunstin wouldn't even swing at It's a personal thing.

Intentionally walking A-Rod was a bad, bad, bad idea.

I had no problems with walking ARod tonight. Two outs and nobody on seemed to be the perfect time to walk him. I do have the problem with walking Matsui and hitting Cano.

Despite the 3 of the first round series being sweeps and the other 4 games, and the NLCS only being 5 games, these have been a pretty fun playoffs with a lot to talk about. A lot of close, back and forth games.

Intentionally walking A-Rod was a bad, bad, bad idea.

Why?

I do not believe in intentionally walking a hitter in that situation for the following reasons:

1) Matsui has been hitting the ball really well in the postseason. It's not like walking A-Rod to get to the pitcher.

2) It put the tying run on base.

3) It forced Fuentes to pitch out of the stretch, which is where it seems like he gets in trouble.

4) Further expanding on that, Fuentes' 1.40 WHIP and 46/24 K/BB is cause for concern that he sometimes struggles with his control. From the look of how that inning started with two easy outs, I wouldn't want to mess with any rhythm he had going.

5) While A-Rod has been hot at the plate, you can always try pitching around him to see if you can get him to chase.

I know A-Rod has been hot during the playoffs, but the odds of him tying the game in that situation are not great enough to merit giving him a free pass.

I thought Fuentes pitched out of the stretch regardless of who is on base?

But I do agree with the rest of your argument that ARod should not have been walked. But when you considered that ARod has arguably been the Yankees best "clutch" hitter this postseason, I much rather take the bat out of his hand and force Matsui to beat you.

I thought he worked out of the windup. In any case, it just seems like he's been uncomfortable with runners on base during the postseason.

My counter-point to that is that it would be much easier for Matsui to beat you than A-Rod. I think it'd be more likely to see Matsui double/triple/homer than see A-Rod homer.

Game 6 postponed due to rain. It is now scheduled to be played tomorrow evening.

Good lord. If this thing goes to 7 the Phillies are going to have about 3 months of rest; or at least that's what it feels like.

If it goes 7 without any more rainouts there will only be one day off before the start of the World Series. If there's another rainout I think they'd have to postpone the start of the Series, because the Phillies would need a reasonable amount of time after Game 7 to travel (since they won't know until then where they're traveling). This is especially true if they have to travel to Los Angeles; traveling to New York wouldn't be such a big deal.

Please blow up Pettite tonight, Angels.

Kind of funny to see 2 former Cub 1st basemen on the pre-game show.

Angels got jobbed on the zone this inning.

Buck & McCarver are too stupid to pick up their cue from the producer. They showed a video of A-Rod at 1B, clearly saying "that pitch was a strike"
