You've got 1st down on SC's 30 needing a touchdown with a potential 1st round QB who seemed to finally get into a decent rhythm and a really good back. So on first down you go wildcat with your 2nd best RB and on 2nd down you try a trick play on a reverse.

Houston Nutt ladies and gentlemen.

That was pretty much the worst call I've ever seen.

Snead was 7 for 21 and 45 of his 107 yards came on that busted coverage touchdown.

that was pretty much the worst performance from a potential first round quarterback playing in a nationally televised game i've ever seen.

If it wasn't for south carolina busting the coverage on that one play he would've been 6 for 21, 62 yards, no touchdowns (assuming everything would've been the same)

That was the first time I have ever seen Snead play, and he looked terrible. The play calling and the fact that they didn't use their best RB until late in the game probably didn't help him.

looking back at the stats mccluster (or whatever his name is) was running all over SC. Your running back is doing well, your quarterback is sucking, you would think that they would run the ball?

Oh well, i'm happy they lost, it helps my sooners. We'll be at least number nine now!

The door is open, PSU, walk through

I wouldn't get cocky yet. there's some weird [expletive] in the college football water this year

I know it's the first time that a top-5 team has lost in each of the first four weeks or something like that, but this has happened in each of the past couple years. Every week it seems one of the top teams goes down.

I'm so pissed I can't even sleep tonight. Thanks Rebs for playing your worst game in years at a time when it really mattered.

I'm pretty bummed about this one. Not a huge fan, but with the family being from there a few generations back, OM has always been my SEC team.

From afar, I wonder why they weren't running McCluster all along with how good he looked in the 4th.

I'm far from cocky. I'm beseeching my team to not [expletive] the bed

I'm hoping PSU's appalling schedule thus far will leave them ill prepared for Iowa. Not that I hate PSU but I need weird crap to happen for USC to get back in the hunt.

Between swine flu and increased parity I'm thinking this will be a pretty wacky year. No one's out of the picture yet for sure.

the fact that PSU wasn't putting 70 points up on those crap teams is a little troubling. I think it will be a close game tomorrow night. It's supposed to rain throughout the game, which might negate some of the PSU's pass offense

Looking at the schedule, we could have a top five team fall each of the first 8 weeks or so this season.

Next week USC travels to Cal. Cal's gonna move into the top five. The week after we have LSU/Florida, both of which could be in the top five, if they win and Cal loses. Ole Miss also plays Alabama. Texas/OU is the week after that. Penn State plays Michigan one of those weeks.

I agree. I used to think Ole Miss was going to be the dangerous trap game and that one game I fear on the schedule, but after watching Ole Miss (or in the words of Erin Andrews, "Oh Mess", I simply do not fear them as much. This can still beat Bama, I won't deny that, but USC really exposed them.

I don't know if I'd say that USC exposed them. I don't think USC won that game so much as Ole Miss lost it with their unbelievably stupid playcalling (usually a great strength) and horribly sluggish play.

Save for Michael Oher and Peria Jerry (two big losses no doubt), this is exactly the same team that beat Florida in the Swamp, beat the dog piss out of LSU at Death Valley, and beat up on Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl. The exact same team that was only beat by a total of 17 points last year. Don't forget Bama only beat us by 4 at Bama last year.

All homerism aside, I think they are a very good team (though certainly overranked). Last night was totally inexplicable.

It was a big mistake to schedule SE Louisiana after the bye week. That's basically three weeks of scrimmages after you've only put in 1 real game.

Yep, it was pretty bad. Throw in the fact that half our team didn't practice all of last week because of the flu, including several starters hospitalized, and it was a SUPER trap game waiting to happen. But the Rebels overall level of play was just really bizarre and totally shocking.
