We are going for three in a row. Also a win would even the season series with the White Sox 3-3.

Ryan Dempster (8-7, 4.15 ERA 1.37 WHIP, 149.2 INN 129 SO)

vs.

Carlos Torres (0-0, 6.75 ERA 1.98 WHIP, 9.1 INN 8 SO)

As I type this LA looks to lose tonite. (I concider them a wild card team real soon)

The Cubs are picking up 1-3 games A DAY (spread around) Just keep winning and the gap will close very fast!

A word on the Brews and Stro's: they have not given up in spite of their dire straits.

Oh, game over. Ariz 4-1

If the Dodgers are a "wild card team" then the Cubs are comically out of the race.

Oh, I don't know Ryan....were'nt they 15 games ahead of Col. last month? They are a mess right now and they will need more than Thome to get strait.

If Col. can make up 12 games in a month we can make up 6 in a month. Just gotta keep winning. That's what it's all about.

The Dodgers are 10.5 games ahead of the Cubs, not 6.

6. 10.5. Its all the same. Won't matter if we go undefeated in September.

Considering the Cubs are trailing in both races, yes it does matter. Making up 6 games with 31 to play is a lot easier than making up 10.5.

If you have ever wanted to goto a Cubs/Sox game and you have the day off tomorrow, this is your chance.

I've been looking at craigslist just for fun, and I've found 100 level seats for $50 each, bleacher seats for $25 each, UD as low as $15 each, etc. I think the postings will be even more desperate in the morning.

Or you could probably just walk around the ballpark until a scalper approaches you. I was out walking my dogs on Saturday and had someone randomly offer me 2 seats in the 400 level for $5 total. It's too bad I had better things to do. :)

Yes, thats true. I took a look at the schedule and it will take a Mets like Sept swoon for them not to at least take the WC. So gotta get Col and SF.

I remember when this game was 1st rescheduled that it could be huge for both teams. Now its just another game between 2 .500ish teams.

As for Carlos Torres, is he a top prospect of any kind or just a stop gap they called up?

My buddy is a die hard Sox fan. From what he says they are projecting him to be a 3rd or 4th kind of starter.

But who knows, he might be way off base.

How about:

Theriot

Bradley

Lee

Ramirez

Fukudome

Soriano

Baker

Hill/Soto/Damien Miller, I really dont care at this point

Dempster

I really want to win this damn game, I dont care how meaningless it is.

I'd rather see Fukudome back up top.

Friend of mine got 2 free bleachers the other day as he walked down Irving. If anybody wants to go to a game this month, just walk around in Wrigleyville until you pay half price at most.
