And how does Jake Fox make a throwing error on a single to right center?

Pickoff attempt after the single and fox made a pathetic effort to catch a decent throw

Soriano has become a worse hitter than Theriot. That's awesome.

I always thought of Riot as a better hitter. Soriano used to be a better run producer. Not to get all semantics

I'm really looking forward to this game.....the rainout was a blessing as it turns out. Sox were playing OK back then and now in a fatal season ending swoon must face a Cub team on the rise.

Losing today is simply not to be tolerated.

Man, how can you be so optimistic?

I guess since you're "part Cards fan"

Is that original post serious? And "part Cards fan?"

Well, ok, but if you're thinking of "hitting" like it seems you are, then there's no need to have an opinion about it. It's a simple matter of looking at batting averages

I suppose. I think it's more in-depth than strictly a numbers thing. Generally speaking when both are hitting how I expect them to I think Theriot works a better count, is more versatile in terms of hitting the balls the other way/bunts, draws more walks and yes he does have a higher average. Soriano's power potential obviously makes up for his deficiencies in areas that Theriot is better. But as far a better hitter, with how I view the term, it's Theriot for me

Theriot sees less pitches per plate appearance.

And Soriano has drawn more walks.

And Soriano's drawn more walks.

Baseball Reference has Soriano's Avg Walks for a 162 game season at 41 and Theriot at 58.

If Soriano does on average see more pitches, I definitely haven't seen that stat and apologize for that. I guess it is how you define the word hitting. I think offensively they both can and should be damn fine players for very different reasons

Were warnings issued? I couldn't tell if Len said if they were or were wondering if they would be.

No warnings given.

Soriano sure does suck.

That will be the one at bat this game where he won't hit a lazy flyball.

I'm really hoping for some sort of non-crippling career ending injury for Soriano. The insurance money would really work out well in the offseason.

We should pool our money and buy him a motorcycle courtesy of the NSBB

Are 8 year contracts insurable for position players?
