Why was Gorzo unable to crack the Pirates rotation? They've had 7 guys make starts this year and only one has an ERA under 4. If he was looking that good in AAA, was he really not worthy of a callup to the Pirates? Were they hiding him down there to inflate his trade value? Was their rotation just too good? Did he just now start pitching well?

 

you could ask the same of Ian Snell

 

I think both of them pissed off management. Gorzo's a douchebag so that makes sense, I think Snell was just pissed that the team is awful.

 

I thought Snell was diagnosed with the scaredies or something.

 

But he actually did make 15 starts, so you can't ask the same thing. Gorzo made none this year. Why?

How is Sean Marshall not raising hell with the organization right about now? I really think he deserves the right to start over Gorzelanny, it's just too bad that he isn't stretched out right now. I was skeptical about Wells and Hart, and both proved me wrong. Hopefully Gorz will do the same.

Cueto has been terrible lately according to the scouting report that I read. So we could be seeing a high scoring game today against Gorzelanny.

 

Gorzelanny was actually outstanding in AAA, particurally July, so hopefully that he can ride that to a quality start at the very least today.

Pretty sure this one will get rained out... they got 6 inches of rain in Louisville in a hour.

 

Flooding everywhere here in S. Indiana and that's on the way to Cincy.

You're right about him being better out of the pen this year. I think at some point Sean will feel that the rotation is like a girl leading him on, and get pissed or frustrated.

A rainout wouldnt be the worst thing. Id imagine if its rained out they will just reschedule it for Thurs since both teams are off. It would give another day of rest for the pen at least.

Depends on how bad the field is. Most everything I see has it clearing up this evening with only about a 30% rain chance. I'm supposed to be going as well...

Considering it's a newer stadium and field, they should have a pretty solid drainage system in place. The game might be delayed a bit, but this one should happen tonight.
