You know damn well that's not true. There's always PLENTY of chance that a team IN FIRST PLACE will make the playoffs. Not when you have the choking capabilities that the Chicago Cubs posess. The Cardinals have the division locked up with their stellar pitching and Holliday pick-up. Had they not gotten Holliday or had Pineiro not erupted, they wouldn't stand a chance either.

Take a look at the standings. You should know better than to say that a team that's currently tied for first place (and two games ahead in the loss column) can't make the playoffs. The standings? Right now? You mean the ones that don't mean anything? Even if by some miracle we pass the Cardinals, who also suck but lucked out with Pineiro and Holliday, we will get swept out of the playoffs like we do every year. You didn't say we'd get swept in the playoffs, though; you said we wouldn't make the playoffs. And you definitely can't say that with any certainty at this point. I know what I said. That's why I said "EVEN IF". There's no chance of us making the playoffs.

I'm just a realist. We can't win jack [expletive]. There's a reason we haven't won in 100 years. We are as shitty of a franchise as there is in sports.

It doesn't help that we suck so much ass. We don't stand a chance in any situation. We won't make the playoffs.
