What does GRB stand for?

Gateway RedBirds

It's a cards fan site that was somewhat modeled after nsbb, started by one of the cards fans that's been a member here for a long time.

Thank you. Both are great looking sites.

don't trolling Cards fans usually get banned around here?

Its more fun sometimes to let it happen slowly. Entertainment value is greater

Heh why ask that question when you are a regular contributor of that site?

Good try acting stupid

Brewers losing 17-4. I almost feel sorry for them at this point. They absolutely have no pitching. Gallardo allowed 9 ER tonight.

I'm not ready to write them off, but they are getting very close to dropping out of the race.

Frankly, I'm surprised they hung around as long as they have with the extreme lack of pitching they've had. Losing both Sabathia and Sheets was too much to overcome.

LOL, he plunks DeRosa on the first pitch

I found this gem on the New York Mets message board:

Bring back Heilman.

Heilman for a Philly cheesestick....just to add the jab....

Just when he starts to look human, he once again proves he isn't.

Thanks for the input

Don't worry. He just got lucky on that one.

No, the Cubs get lucky and play teams that roll over and die. The Cards have pixie dust. Keep your BS straight.

Exactly. The Cubs have been the luckiest team this 2nd half, I just hope this luck continues........

Well we have to be now that the Cards have the new murderer's row. (someone at GRB actually said that)

Well I thought they were the 2nd coming of the 27 Yanks? Just ask Bud Norris how tough that lineup is

You guys are so full of bravado right now it's ridiculous. The red kool-aid is flowing through the streets. You guys are a juggernaut and the Cubs are barely hanging on by their nails because teams are rolling over and others are turning bad just in time to play them. It's just a matter of time before they fall to the new murderer's row.

Or not.

Not saying you're totally wrong, but even most Cubs fans would admit you've only played two good teams since the break, and both of those were series loses.

I think this weekend will tell us what kind of team the Cubs are. If they take 3 of 4 in Colorado I'll start to really worry.

On the flip side, the Cubs have been blown out exactly once since the break, and played both good teams fairly even in their home parks. They're 12-1 against all other teams, while scoring has been way up, which was the primary issue in the first half for the club. Truthfully, the Cubs are a couple unlikely bullpen implosions away from being 16-3 since the break, and that's about as well as any team can play at this point.

Well, to those who still consider the Brewers relevent, The Dodgers have jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on em.

They are starting to warm up.

Even if taking 1-3 from the Padres and then taking a close 1 from the Dodgers is considered warming up, having your ace/only respectable starter get wife beaten in 5.1 innings ought to cool em down.

Agreed. That's why I'm watching what the Cubs do everyday. It's getting past the point of a hot streak, and turning into a consistent level of play. The next week or two are huge for both teams. The Cards have to feast on the cellar teams like the Cubs have, and the Cubs need to go no worse than .500 against the above .500 teams they play.

This is when the division race gets fun!
