    Sounds like the players feel similar to the fans. No more garage sale pickups, and more big time purchases/trades. And I'm more than happy to have Lou back. Can't blame him for the embarassing blown leads, and the constant unproductive outs/low avg w/RISP.

    IIRC, the downfall of the 2004 team was not being able to beat bad teams. I remember a very unpleasant series against Montreal in early September of 2004 that pissed me right the [expletive] off. That's so crazy you mention that series. I was just thinking back to that series the other day. I remember Lee blasting a home run in the 1st, then Wood giving up like 8 ER's against the Expos. We ended up losing that series. :banghead:

    The last time we won that series against a +.500 team was in freakin' April, also. APRIL. I'm stunned.
