I just don't like playoff atmosphere for what amounts to one of the most "meaningless" series of the year.

You don't like people getting excited about baseball games in June?

No, I do, that statement was pretty tongue in cheek. When the atmosphere is cranked up, I get more intense and then only bad things come from that really.

CUBS are on a pace for:

683 runs

Compared to:

2008 2007 2006 2005

857 752 716 703

I didn't realize this was not an offense. Thanks for correcting me, o wise moderator.

Oh, I don't know.... it seems rather offensive to me !!

These rivalry series are dumb. Why can't we face the Sox one series a year? I'd rather face the Royals in place of them so we get to see the entire AL Central.

I haven't had any confidence watching a Cubs game since about April, when we were 1-0. Can we get hot already?!

The weather doesn't look too promising. Any chance they get this in?

Truly 50/50 I would say

I'd agree. I haven't put the weather on but I'm going to. It started out looking like a passing thing, but boy has it settled here on the south side. Yesterday was such a nice day for a ball game, too.

Looking at weather.com's hourly forcast, we'll have a couple hour window. Looking at the radar, we should be good. We might get wet here and there, but I think they'll get this one in, or at least a few hours of it in.

So do we get just Len and Bob this series?

Tonight and Thursday are Len and Bob, tomorrow is the bad guys.

And CSN has whoever WGN doesn't for all three.

Good thing Ill be following tomorrows game through gameday at work, or Id have to watch the game on mute with something more pleasent for the audio. Like fingernails scratching a chalkboard or a cat being fed into a woodchipper.

What scheduling genius put this series mid-week?

Not a bad idea actually. No need to have back to back weekend series against the same team in the same city. Sox need the weekend for fans to show up. Cubs don't. I think the Cubs/Indians series is more interesting anyway.

Of course, I think Cubs/Det should have been a weekender over Min/Cubs.

Come on, rain, STOP! It looked hopeful then it started downpouring. On the radar the rain keeps rebuilding southwest here where I am, but hopefully it can pass south of Wrigley because you sure can't see a foot in front of you as hard as it is coming down here.

I live in the Loop and this is looking nasty. I've got tickets and I'm going to head up, but I'm certainly not optimistic about this one.

Its south of Wilmington, so that's pretty far south.... DARN.

I can't wait to watch Hawk and Stone tomorrow. Should be some amazing comic relief, though it can't top Hawk and DJ.

I don't watch too many Sox games but Hawk's reaction to them beating Milawaukee on Sunday was pretty funny.

It's starting to pour in Wrigleyville....

My friends and I are trying to figure out whether to go straight to the game or hang around and have a few beers first. Is there any chance it starts on time, in your opinion?

Kaplan was just on Tribune Live or whatever that show is called, and the WGN weather crew says there should be a window about 6 45 or 7 to get the game in. They all seem to think they will play, but it may start a little past 7 05.
