Yay lets boo a guy who hit a solid line drive that someone made a great play on. His mistake didn't even cost the Cubs a run. I think the booing is more about general frusteration with the team than it is with Bradley.

I agree ... fans need a target and MB is an easy one.

Hes an easy one because hes brought it all on himself this year by playing like a little leaguer

As someone who has not been particularly harsh on Bradley, I don't understand how several people here are defending Milton.

I havent been harsh on him either. Like I said I can deal with slumps and underporforming, it happens, but the mental mistakes and playing like a little leaguer I cant handle.

Booing Bradley is not idiotic at this point.

I'm with you. I'm not all for booing players for poor performance. But poor effort and not even paying attention absolutely deserves it.

You guys think Milton will support Hendry when he gets fired after the season? I mean, he's going to be a major reason in Jim getting fired.

Hendry isn't nor does he deserved to be fired.

I agree he isnt getting fired, but Id like to know why he doesnt deserve to be fired if this season keeps going the way it is.

I think it has to do with the 4 guaranteed years after this one that Hendry is due based on the extension he signed last offseason more than anything. If you wanted Hendry to get fired your best chance was last year, and he ended up having the best year of his career at the GM position.

Because he's the only one in the outfield hitting right now.

His OPS over the past 7 games is .397. He's not producing and he's making stupid mistakes and not paying attention.

Does Theriot realize that hitting the ball in the air and striking out is going to lose him a spot on major league rosters?

Good thing for him that the Chicago Cubs are like a AAAA team, rather than like a major league team

Sadly that may be the highest out there amongst our starting OF's right now lol

Tomorrow will be the first time in memory that Ill be attending a Cubs game and not looking forward to it.

How could you not be looking forward it, what with all the hilarity on the field and such.....

I suppose the best thing would be to download the Benny Hill music on my I Pod and play it on loop the entire game.

I really wish this game was on CSN so we could get Lous post game live. Should be entertaining I bet

What's entertaining about today? We finally scored at least a few runs, and the pitching finally gave up a few today. Both were bound to happen eventually, but of course in typical Cub fashion they happened in the same game. I would have been more interested in seeing his comments if we lost another 2-1 extra innings game today.

The pure stupidity of our baseball team should bring on some interesting questions to Lou. Also yes we scored 4 runs, we also struck out in the double digits, and only had 6 hits.

He only has 3 more guaranteed years. New owners are generally more likely to axe a guy despite that much time on his deal. They can fire him and still make him be a scout or minor league guy, which is where he had his success in this organization. And it's not like anybody would have to be admitting a mistake. You're talking about costing the team maybe a couple million to hire another GM while Hendry is still under contract.

At least you know that with every fly ball to the outfield, you have a chance of having a ball thrown to you.

It's never gonna happen.

Certainly not this year, or next, or probably 2011. It'll be a while till we have the financial flexibility to make the moves necessary to win it all again.

and even then something awful will happen. The Stadium will implode. One of our players will go columbine on the team. Face it, It's never gonna happen.

Yeah, I neglected to mention the new owner angle, which is very viable, because it killed my argument and I already typed my post out and had my cursor hovered over the "Submit" button, so yeah.

People said it wouldn't happen for a few years after 2006. There are tons of variables that could happen. One of our prospects could suddenly emerge into a young star, we could make a trade and pick up some important pieces, the new owner might want to make a spalsh after his negotiations ruined this season and tell the management to throw more money at FAs, the team could overachieve next year instead of underachieving this year, etc etc.

Also, its possible that we get our heads out of our butts and put it together this year. At worst we're 3.5 games out of first after today. I've seen too many teams play .500 ball for 80 game stretches of the season and then make a playoff run to count out the Cubs no matter how inept we look right now.

I keep thinking back to the 2005 White Sox. Theyd just gotten rid of 2 of their stars in Carlos Lee and Mags, and the 3rd, Thomas was a non factor all season. They replace them with scrap heapers Jermaine Dye, AJ, and Pods, sign an unknown from Japan and end up putting together a juggernaut.

I'm pretty certain Kosuke will never get a hit in the major leagues again. What a joke he is.

In fact, this organization is just massive, massive pile of FAIL. It's simply impossible to watch this team without wanting to throw a brick right thru the t.v or slash your wrists open. I'm serious.

More like

"Well...we finally scored a couple of runs today, and then...our pitching staff picked a bad day to finally have a poor game. It's just the way things are going for us right now, what can I say? We're gonna try to build on today's offensive performance after the 5th inning today and try to get em tomorrow."

His opening statement to the press conference will probably sound like that.

I just wish we would luck into one. So I could stop watching them.
