I say give Soriano the night off. He could use a 2 day break with his sore knee, and the way hes been swinging like C-Patt lately, his bat is worthless to us anyway. I know Soriano goes through these stretches, but this one has been absolutely painfull.

As for Marshall, the question is, is he auditioning for a job that hes already earned and should be rightfully his, or does he not stand a chance of keping it either way? If he can shut down the Dodgers, Lou might have to think twice. Either way, he or Wells could prove very valuable to our sickly middle relief core.

Thanks, Fred, for picking up the start for me today. As it turns out, homestands are a pretty terrible time for me to be a starter. Luckily the homestand ends today (And not a minute too soon). I won't be able to get tuesday's game thread up until late-late tonight or early tomorrow - but I promise you, it will be up.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Milton is gonna own us for however long he'll be out there

So we're gonna need a good outing out of Marshall again. Poor guy, he should have a guaranteed spot already in the rotation.

I say give Soriano the night off. He could use a 2 day break with his sore knee, and the way hes been swinging like C-Patt lately, his bat is worthless to us anyway. I know Soriano goes through these stretches, but this one has been absolutely painfull.

As for Marshall, the question is, is he auditioning for a job that hes already earned and should be rightfully his, or does he not stand a chance of keping it either way? If he can shut down the Dodgers, Lou might have to think twice. Either way, he or Wells could prove very valuable to our sickly middle relief core.

Agreed. I also think it serves the purpose of getting Fukudome in the lineup so he doesn't have 6 of 8 days off with all the LH starters the Cubs have faced. Or could get Fox some PT in LF. Plus, Soriano has a couple days before ATL, who he has absolutely molested as a Cub.
