I'm convinced Lou doesn't give a [expletive] about managing anymore. If this was 2007, he'd have done something by now. Instead he's sitting back and doing nothing and it clearly isn't working.

If only Lou would start driving in more runs, maybe hitting for better average. Maybe he could've caught that ball at 2nd that Miles muffed. Or he could have come in an thrown lefty instead of Cotts. Stupid Lou.

His ejection in 2007 completely changed that season. I think we had the best record in the majors after that ejection. Why not try it again? He should have done it yesterday on that bang-bang play with Freel at 3rd base.

I have a rock that repels tiger attacks. I picked it up ten years ago and a tiger has never attacked me in that time.

So your contention is that the Cubs would start hitting the ball better, and pitching the ball better, and catching the ball better, and getting breaks and beating their opponent if only Lou would give his hat a few swift kicks?

You know what this team needs?

Larry: Excuse me, but what the hell's going on out here?

Crash Davis: Well, Nuke's scared because his eyelids are jammed and his old man's here. We need a live... is it a live rooster?

[Jose nods]

Crash Davis: We need a live rooster to take the curse off Jose's glove and nobody seems to know what to get Millie or Jimmy for their wedding present.

[to the players]

Crash Davis: Is that about right?

[the players nod]

Crash Davis: We're dealing with a lot of [expletive].

Larry: Okay, well, uh... candlesticks always make a nice gift, and uh, maybe you could find out where she's registered and maybe a place-setting or maybe a silverware pattern. Okay, let's get two! Go get 'em.

Whether it did anything or not, they were very clearly a different team after his base throwing tirade in 2007 (or whatever he did). Maybe it just loosened everybody up, I don't know. They were in the midst of a similar losing streak then, but didn't have injuries to speak of at that point. Like people have been saying, Lou just seems disinterested and very hands off right now.

Cotts might be the first change pretty soon here if Lou's quote is any indication:

"We've given Neal all the opportunities in the world," Piniella said of the lefty, who has a 7.36 ERA. "It's time, isn't it?"

I assume his "it's time" didn't quite mean yet that it's time to pull the plug, but it probably does mean that Cotts has absolutely no extra rope left.

Can the rock be used for stoning Aaron Miles?

Knowing Lou it probably means he's a goner. It's the right move. I just can't believe our bullpen has become such a joke.

This happened the day after the infamous Barrett-Zambrano brawl. Lou got suspended for a few games after getting tossed, and Trammell served as acting manager. Whether it's coincidental or not, the Cubs started winning under Trammell and continued when Lou returned. There was speculation at the time that it helped relax the Cubs getting away from Lou for a few days.

Yay we won a series against the craptastic Pirates, can't complain about tying a series with the best team in baseball. But newsflash, we're still a .500 baseball team. Everyone on this team with the exception of Bobby Scales and Randy Wells and probably Micah Hoffpauir is underachieving this season. Look at all of our batting averages. Horrific. I don't care if we're missing Aramis. It's a huge loss but we have guys capable of picking up the slack for his absence and they're not doing so. Maybe Hendry should be the one to go. Everyone saw what a horrific offseason we had but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Now that our team is playing like it is my blame goes to him for ruining a solid bullpen from last year and bringing in a worthless RF for 30 million dollars and trading our MVP from last season to do so. Also he traded Jose Ceda for worthless Kevin Gregg. WTF?

And now to Lou, the home plate umpire was brutal as the game wore on last night. And what did Lou do? Just sat there. He doesn't give a [expletive] about managing anymore. I think this will be his last season. He'll probably quit at the end of the year when the Cubs finish 3rd with an 80-82 record. Just look at tonight's forfeit lineup against Derek Lowe for more prove that he could care less about this team. Remember, Lou was the one who chased away relievers such as Michael Wuertz and Scott Eyre who are both having okay seasons with their new respective teams. Lou is also the one that forced Hendry to make all these moves to get more left-handed for the upcoming playoffs. Looks like we will never see how this works out as we won't be going to the playoffs with this new team. Thanks for everything Lou.

Firing a manager wouldn't be a bad thing. Look at the Rockies for example. 9 game win streak since Clint Hurdle was fired. 8 of those on the road. This team isn't making the playoffs this year with Lou. Just let Trammel take over. Maybe change is good.

Um... change for the sake of change isn't good. Hurdle wasn't a good manager.

Successful comapnies make changes for the sake of change all the time. As long as it's a reasonable decision, there's nothing wrong with it.
