Why isnt anyone talking trade? The Mets lose Delgado for 10 weeks and they're already weighing all their options. Meanwhile, we lose Aram, whose more important to us than Delgado is to them and were trying to plug in a bunch of journeymen to fill the void. It aint going to work.

I'm sure the Mets are looking to acquire more than a 1B who can't hit anymore.

And I'm all for playing Hoff more, but Soto will come around. However, if Lou saying that he'll play Hill over Geo if he doesn't turn it around soon lights a fire under him and gets his bat going, then I'm all for it.

But wouldn't you say Soto already is coming around (or even has come around)? His SLG is still pathetic but he's got a .280 BA and .362 OBP in May.

Yea thats my problem with Lous comments. Lee has shown signs of life, as has Soto, and now is when he talks about making changes.

The Cubs aren't going to trade Lee. Even if they could they probably don't want to. The Mets might be interested in Fox to fill in at first or maybe Hoffpauir.

Lee is not going to get benched, but Bradley might.

What are the Mets going to give us for Fox? Fernando Tatis or Angel Pagan? They really dont have anythig we need, not that theyd be willing to trade anyway.

As soon as Bradley gets benched, the Bradley era ends. Knowing his and Lous peronalities, it would lead to a great big mess.

So now all of a sudden the Cardinals are looking good? Since when?

The last two days. Or are the Cubs just looking that bad?

The Cardinals have scored 5 runs on us the last two days even though we're playing defense like nine Jake Foxes. Don't be fooled.

Yea this. The Cardinals are coming off getting swept at home vs the Brewers, and its not like their offense is out there pounding away. The Cubs have looked very bad the last 2 games, but I definately wouldnt say the Cardinals are looking good. They are looking better than the Cubs the last 2 games, after looking abysmal the previous 4-6 games when the Cubs were winning 5 straight.

The Cubs are currently without their #1 starter and best hitter. Of course they're going to struggle. Now is not the time to make a panic move.

Right. But it is time to look at getting Hoff in the lineup every day, regardless of egos and hurt feelings.

Lee has shown signs of life for a few games at Wrigley with the wind blowing out. Neifi Perez used to show signs of life in those situations too.

The wind blowing out has nothing to do with it

Depends, what's Hoff's mental makeup like?

benching miton bradley would be really stupid. even if he doesn't hit like he did with the rangers, you have to go back to the early 2000s for when he was not really making positive contributions with the bat. unless there is something wrong with him physically that is preventing him from hitting well, he's extremely likely to be at last a .280/.360/.450 guy in RF - and probably better than that. so yeah, benching bradley and soto is the answer if you're trying to sabotage your team.

we're on a 90-win pace, not really sure the rationale or reasoning behind mass panic

Getting owned by the chief division rival which spent $55 million less than you tends to elecit these reactions.

The Cubs aren't going to trade Lee because he's not real good right now. He's not the 40 HR Lee of a few years ago. That ship has sailed. The only way he gets traded is if he waives his NTC and if the Cubs eat a majority of the salary.

I'd like a change to be made in the manager's spot.

Panicky, senile, expensive.........blech.

I realize it could be worse (Ned Yost comes to mind) but I think Pineilla is overrated as a manager.

Fire Lou, moves Brenly into the booth.

Hendry needs to go before Lou does.

Did anyone just here Lou's pregame comments??

Said only thing left to change is to move Soriano to 2B and Hoff to LF....said he didn't want to have to make that move but if it keeps going like this he'll have no choice
