Im pretty confident that Fox will be able to hit major league pitching. Theres a difference between a guy in AAA with a .325 avg and a 1.000 OPS and the kind of monster numbers Fox is putting up. As Ive stated before, id be more than willing to sacrifice Freel or Scales(granted, Id rather dump Miles than either, but that wont happen) to see what Fox can do. Worse case scenerio, hes a brutal fielder, he becomes a pinch hitter and we have 3 bad middle infielders to juggle instead of 4.

He's putting up awesome numbers, but that still doesn't guarantee success at the major league level. I'm not trying to argue that Fox will be unproductive, but Hoff is currently putting up a .929 OPS in the majors and is the better bet to produce now - which appears to be Lou's goal.

I agree fully, but I just want to give him the chance if all were sacrificing is a player we really dont need anyway and if it comes down to it can be easily replaced.

I'd love to give him a chance, but he simply can't play defense. It's the same reason I don't like the idea of Soriano to 2B and Hoff to LF, great offense negated somewhat by awful defense.

I'd be fine with calling up Fox to come off the bench, but not to start.

Again, I agree. So basically Fox and Hoff are Ward and Floyd. Worked in '07. Still, dont tell me theres a part of you that wouldnt like to see that Sori/Hoff/Fox experiment just for a game or 2 vs. a bad team.

Right now I'm mostly just marveling at how bad our infield looks. How did this happen so soon?

We were trotting out Ramirez, Lee, DeRo most games last year. Theriot was the weak link, but covered to some degree by the good play of others.

Now it's Lee, then junk, junk, junk. And Lee -- hopefully the arrow is pointing up now, but we've discussed ad nauseum his struggles.

I mean, whoah. How quickly we've fallen.

Ryan Theriot(amazingly) has been pretty good this year.

.810 OPS and .273 EqA. If he does that all year, I'll be thrilled.

Me too, but if you told me at the beginning of the year we'd be relying on Theriot to be one of the best infielders on the team, I'd say uh-oh.

Definitely. Eventually, though, bats like Lee, Soto and Bradley will come around and with Theriot hitting like this our offense could become awesome again.

Haha, the offense would be fun to watch. I'd cringe every time they took the field, though.

I was thinking about a Hoff/Fuku/Fox outfield with Sori at 2nd. (Again, against a bad team) just to see what the offense could do.

Whats Gary Gaetti up to these days?

Those BABIPs simply have to improve. We're hitting balls hard, but they're going right at people right now.
