I don't know...we'll hear what the prognosis is soon, but if its significant, it might just not be our year. Aramis is probably the most important piece on the team and its difficult to see how they can win the division without him.

If Bradley and Soto can pull their bats out of their anuses, it might not be the end of the world. Weve gotten next to no production out of the Sub Mendoza twins and weve done pretty good so far.

My guess is dislocated shoulder. That would be a minimum 6 weeks and could extend to 12 weeks.

If he's out that long, the Cubs would have to find another bat for the line-up. We don't currently have anyone reliable enough to trust at 3b. I'm not exactly sure where we could look for someone to fill in there.

6 weeks minimum.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was season ending.

Any 3rd basemen available?

Like I said in the game thread, the worst case scenario is that its career altering injury. The most popular example is Scott Rolen of course. He was never the same after his torn labrum and lost significant power.

I mentioned in the game thread. Kevin Kouzmanoff might be the closest thing, maybe Aubrey Huff or Ty Wiggington. Obviuosly, they wont replace Ramirez by a long shot, but if Soto and Bradley can do something it will ease the pain.

I think it's becoming more and more clear that 2008 was the year. It's all downhill now and will continue to be that way with the aging players and bad contracts.

Huff wouldn't surprise me at all. This is the last year of his contract and the Cubs have to meet their 6 trades per year quota with Baltimore. I don't remember if he's even close to adequate defensively.

The worst part is waiting to find out what's up, and we'll probably have to wait until at least tomorrow to find out.

This feels a lot like when Lee broke his wrist in 2006.

I was just gonna say it feels exactly like Lee. When most people get hurt, I always hold out hope that it can just be a day to day thing, but when Lee went down and now Aramis, I pretty much know its a significant injury and I just brace for the news.
