That flagrant was worse than the technical they called yesterday.

That was the worst intentional foul I've ever seen and I say that with no hyperbole.

Last night Sims hit a 3 for Michigan with 5 seconds left to tie up the game with Iowa. On that shot he pulled his Reggie Miller, kick my feet out to draw contact and fell down. No foul was called. The interesting thing is that in the postgame Sims said Hightower told him that he would have called the foul if he missed the shot.

Ed Hightower ladies and gentlemen.

He did get touched on the hand after he released, but it would've been a brutal call.

That's still not as bad as whatever ref told Bruce Weber that if Tisdale wanted to get a foul called he'd gain some weight.

I blew off the Louisville game to watch Ball State because I knew that ND would either get run out of the gym or lose a heartbreaker. Notre Dame sports: finding ways to lose in my entire conscious lifetime. I'm reading a lot about how we got screwed by officiating, but having not seen the game I won't comment.

Ball State beat Central 69-63 despite surrendering an 18-0 second-half run. The magic number is 2 to clinch the division and lock up a #2 seed in the MAC tournament.

On the technical foul in the Mizzou game:

I was sitting in the front row close to the Texas bench. Barnes asked the gray-headed ref why it was a technical, the guy shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't know." It was clearly one of those, "I can't say it, but my partner is an idiot and I agree with you." I think it was a makeup because a few minutes before that they should have called a technical and didn't. However, I hate makeup calls and they should never be made.

EDIT: I said technical because I was thinking about the Michigan game, I meant intentional...

How is the top of Joe Tiller's head not a personal foul?

He can't control the fact that he's the missing link on the evolutionary scale.

That was a very satisfying win. Needed it badly, and Texas came unglued which made it all the more satisfying.

Can someone explain?

I meant JT Tiller, not Joe Tiller. TT just knew who I was talking about.

Ah. I was trying to figure out why he would be at that game and what was wrong with his head. I can sleep now.

Dick Vitale was arguing talking about how there are a lot of good teams in the Big East beyond the top teams, and he throws [expletive] Rutgers out there.

There is no rhyme or reason to whether crappy teams beating better teams in a league is viewed as being the symptom of a good/deep league or not. For whatever reason the Big East usually gets the benefit of the doubt there (not sure they deserve it this year).

That was a really clear and loud "F*** Bo Ryan" *clap clap clap clap clap* chant.

Could be heard for a long time.

Wisconsin's playin pretty ugly right now. Not even trying to get down low. Leuer looks quite rusty.

They just showed OSU's profile for us with regards to good wins and bad losses. I'm pretty sure Lavin knew it was wrong, as he didn't comment on it, and instead talked about 3 of the big wins we actually had.

I saw that. The only thing I noticed at a quick glance was the loss to Michigan and I was like, wait, we haven't even played them yet.

Also, that traveling call on Iverson when he got under cut was amazingly BS.

They must've all been wrong. They showed Illinois' profile earlier in the game, immediately after talking about Purdue beating Illinois to start their win streak. Illinois' profile showed beating Purdue as a key victory.

Yeah, the RPI and record were correct, the wins and losses were from Ohio St.'s profile. They had a win against Cal in there as well.

Did they use last year's stuff as key wins for this year? I didn't see any of it but it sounds like they may have.

Bracketology projections from today:

Purdue #1

Michigan St. #3

Ohio St. #3

Wisconsin #5

Illinois #8

Minnesota isn't even in the 'Next Four Out'.

The Purdue guys have to know they're a lock to be a #1 seed if they win out. I wonder how they will react to the pressure against IL tomorrow.

Unless Mike Davis shows up for the 4th time this season, we're probably screwed

I think we have a 99% chance for a #1 even if we lose one more whether that is in regular season or conference tournament. Two of Villanova, West Virginia and Syracuse must lose at least one more and either K-State or Kansas must lose one more. That leaves only Duke and Kentucky with no conference opponent in the top 8. So if those two win out, one of the Big East teams wins out and Kansas wins out Purdue may not get a #1 seed with one more loss. However, even then I would say Purdue would have a decent shot at getting a #1 seed especially if the Big East team is West Virginia. I think the domination of West Virginia and wins over a bunch of ranked teams (including teams in ACC, Big East and Big XII) would go a long way.
