apparently, it's down to 2 for Beal. Florida and Illinois, with Florida holding a slight edge. His parents want him to stay close to home and that means illinois, though.

You never had a chance. I don't buy that Kansas is out of it. I'm pretty confident if it's us vs. Florida, we'll get him.

If you want a break from the football, ESPN has a tripleheader of hoops tomorrow culminating in UConn/Duke in the preseason NIT final.

 

UConn's playing Duke today? Somebody should've mentioned that such a historic matchup would be taking place.

Not surprising, Michigan is going to live and die by the 3 this season. If they shoot well, they win. If not, they can lose to anybody.

a momentary lapse of reason from a premium rivals member. i don't know the rules about posting the name of the guy who originated the info, but it's solid. i happened to be on the board for the 2 minutes the info was up before it was pulled down.

lol. There's also a rumor floating around that Jerrance has an in home today. Either way I'm glad this is going to be over soon.

 

Isn't Price the lead recruiter on him? I wonder if Jerrance is playing the role of closer for some of these kids. If Price(or McClain) and Weber can sell everything about the program and how it will help them go to the next level, then Jerrance comes in to be a relatable(i.e. young) guy to show them they'll have somebody who's more than an authority figure.

I'm not sure I buy this rumor that it's down to UI/UF, either. The lead recruiting expert at Phog has just recently said Beal was poised to look at more schools (specifically Mizzou), not whittle it down. I suppose things could have changed in the last week, but I'm skeptical. There's also virtually no discussion of this on the Phog, which seems weird.

ah, right on, i figured you were after i re-examined your first sentence.

 

i'm not sure what the communication is between the guys who work for rivals and scout and the illini boards and phog.net even. i'm also not sure where this guy gets his info but i guess he's respected enough as far as the posters on scout are concerned.

Notre Dame's annual out of conference clunker. At one point I think we went 3 minutes without shooting a 2-pointer, which is exactly what Northwestern wanted us to do. This pretty much ensures we're going to have to go off in the Big East since we're probably going to find a way to lose to UCLA too.

Mizzou struggling against Old Dominion

 

I think ODU might be pretty decent. And not just bc they beat OU, who looks terrible this year.

 

I haven't had a chance to see them, and this game isn't on TV, so I don't know if they are doing a good job of stopping us or we are just playing terribly. We're only shooting 37%. Mizzou up 58-51 with 35 ticks left.

Why is there no GameCast on ESPN for Illinois/Utah ???

It's not an ESPN-sponsored event. There was a Luke Winn article from a few days ago detailing how ESPN has taken over the early-season tourneys, and the few that have held out (Great Alaska Shootout and Las Vegas Classic were two mentioned) are basically shut out of coverage. ESPN didn't even have it listed in the scoreboard until earlier today.
