Huh, kenpom has another conference listed - The Great West. It's just 7 [expletive] former independents, what the hell is the point?

Easier for them to schedule? I dunno. In case anyone was curious, they don't have an auto-bid into the tourney. The name is hilarious though. NJIT, Chicago State, UT-PA, buncha great geographic rivalries there.

Is it a punishment for the team that wins the first championship to have to wear the hats and gear?

Haha, Oregon loses to Montana.

Haha louder at the host guy calling Gottlieb a former ND star. He looked uncomfortable about that.

It's actually awesome how bad the two big Oregon teams are. Oregon has lost to Montana and Portland, while Oregon State has lost to Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas Tech and Sacramento State.

He was calling him that all night, that guy was bad. He and Jay Williams completely butchered about 13 names while I was watching. Gottlieb can be a dick but I really like him.

ESPN has LewJack playing. That can't be true. He was just ruled out indefinitely a week ago and there has been no coverage on the Lafayette paper about him coming back.

LewJack did not play. Purdue didn't look that bad. Completely manhandled St. Jo's in the 2nd half.

What is that trophy in your sig?

It's the 1932 National Championship trophy. The picture accompanied and article about how the team was driven to make the Final Four in Indy this season. Eyes on the prize.

Alrite I was very confused. I knew it was not the BTT trophy, and then I though why would the NCAA start giving out trophy's for the Sweet Sixteen. Suddenly it all makes sense.

Oh, man. That's rich. The 1932 Championship trophy? Did Purdue make that for themselves? Because that's not what (apocryphal) championship trophies looked like back then.

I can't find the article to verify but it certainly looks like an NCAA championship trophy and since that's their only one I would guess it is. I'd much rather enjoy Purdue's current athletics program's success than sit around thinking remember when they were good.

Again, that's not the way NCAA Championship trophies looked back then. I'm not sure when that style of trophy first appeared, but it was sometime between 1953 and 1976. Either the NCAA retroactively issued championship trophies to Helm's winners (extremely doubtful) or Purdue commissioned the trophy itself. (Or it's not the 1932 trophy at all.)

The trophies have since been redesigned. T-minus three posts before snood's visual evidence . . .

Leave snood alone, he has to hurry up and post the trophies, before they're taken away from them.

For all my UI buddies. Stop by Allen Field House. See one in person.

To be fair, Portland is supposed to be a decent team (who will wax UCLA this weekend).

It's not just Oregon...the whole damn Pac-10 is bad.

"Show me the cancelled check." That's the best pg money can buy right there. Well, not really.

Don't stop by Sherron's apartment elevator though. You'll see/feel a whole different experience in person.

Ha, T-minus two posts it turns out. Knew it was inevitable. (Not that I blame him one iota.)

It's all in fun

Agreed. I'm just point plankn.

What's up with the people in KC? Two decent games last night and the Sprint Center was about half full?

Dunno. Iowa fans prob took a pass because they're so bad. Texas fans probably stayed in Texas to watch high school football practices.

That's too bad, Texas is stacked. How the hell did UCLA let Jordan Hamilton leave?

The old UCLA standby - grades. Ditto Avery Bradley who Howland wanted really badly.
